Who will be playing on release?

I'm buying the digital copy cause it can be installed before the game releases so I dunt have to wait on release day for stores to open or to download the client and installation.

Well, I ordered it at 5pm yesterday, hoping it would arrive in time for Tuesday. I have 2 essays in for Monday including my final dissertation.

IT ARRIVED TODAY.

Blizzard are actually trolling me.

ya I have the installer fully downloaded and ready to go. I'm sposed to be off on Tues/Weds but I may have to include Monday as well.

note: my workday is 11p-7a so when I mean "include Monday" I mean I start work at 11pm Monday and get off at 7am Tuesday. I'm sure you can see my dilemma :-). Can't let you fellas get a headstart, now can I?

Well, I can't install it which is a shame. I redeemed the CD Key and am downloading it from Blizzard. I'm not really interested in playing from midnight though.

Still, £32.95 (free 1st class post included) instead of Blizzard's £49.99!

Most people in Australia, NZ and Asia would have been playing it for hours even by 11pm your time!

If you are playing right now, that is awesome for you. I went through twenty minutes of "Error 37" until I got to the class selection menu. Then I was defeated by "Your Request Was cancelled. Error 3005". I can't be mad that there are millions of other people in the world with better internet connections than me that have already logged on and got started. I understand that it's launch night and there tons of people wanting to play right now, but damn, at this rate I'll have to wait a few weeks until people get bored. Another part of me is sort of angry Blizzard didn't anticipate so many people wanting to play.

I'm terribly disappointed. I could play a single player experience with Diablo II if I wanted. With this one I have to connect to a server. I don't like that.

I'm glad I didnt take off today. Hopefully by the time I get off things will be sorted out.

I'm glad I didn't buy it on day one as well. I have no time for the frustrations that people are clearly feeling at the moment. On the one hand I don't think anyone is wildly surprised. On the other Blizzard should have known how popular this game would be on release, and compensated accordingly.

It took me about 45 minutes to log in, although I did have a bath in the interim. I did get lucky though. I wouldn't have bothered playing at midnight (which technically was at 11pm as the Europe servers were turned on at midnight CEST, which is an hour ahead of us) except I just finished my dissertation and was way too tired to go out.

Today, though, it's been absolutely fine. I first logged on at about 10am and then through the day and it hasn't failed once. The first couple of hours after launch were rough but since then it's been absolutely fine.

Ok once we all get up and running we need to organize for multiplay. I still can't get in for the Americas but Europe runs great.

Did anyone else need a full 24 hours to install?

Yeah, it seems as though Europe has been fine whilst America...hasn't...

Europe was always better than America. Fewer players I guess. Which also equals fewer pricks. A win-win!
