More like, if it was Nintendo, "Wow, online gaming IS a gimmick. We can use it."

I'll never forget the E3 when they called online gaming a fad and said the much better alternative was the Gameboy Advance connectivity cables to play Final Fantasy Chrystal Chronicles on Gamecube.

He did say PSN... not online gaming. Which is a fair point.
And you could get online via XBC on Xbox before PS2

Chu Chu Rocket!!!!!!! Also sports games could be played online...another fun game was Alien front online...not sure what else was out there.

Then there was the Sega NetLink on the saturn...which I just looked up and saw that if two people still have a the netlink, they can play online as it uses no servers.

Pretty much. There was a bit of Quake III on the go for those who didn't have it on PC though, which was basically no one.

The devil is in the details.

And PS2 was already online in Japan even before the xbox was even released.

The day NFL Sunday Ticket dropped on PSN finally freeing me from the chains of Direct TV = automatic win over XBL

You only use that part of the year though, I'd prefer a system with a solid netflix app... which compared to the 360 version, the PS3 really got the shaft.

You prefer the system with a solid netflix app and you side with 360 and not only that but you're calling PS3 version the one who got shafted?

Umm homey, the PS3 version supports full 1080p streaming along with 5.1 surround sound support. The 360 version doesn't.

So you're watching movies in 720p no surround support at all whether you have the setup or not and I got full 1080p streaming with surround sound support.

I don't own surround sound, so it's a little pointless for me to go for the PS3 version when the UI is much better designed on 360...

Anyway, I seriously doubt my ****ty connection could hold a stream at 1080p...
