Appeal to get my original username un-banned

I was wondering if there would be any possible way to get my original username, Legendaryking6, unbanned? I haven't gotten any infractions in a while and my only one which is a caution and not even a warning is set to expire in just over a month. If I can't get it unbanned at the current time, when would that be able to happen?

This raises an interesting point. Obviously the blanket rule was introduced with the last major rule change that old names are no longer eligible to be unbanned, whilst the rule before that was that after one year new names could be unbanned but would then be on ZT for a time.

It might be time to look again at the rule. I'm sure the upper staff don't want to be inundated with requests to un ban old names, but ultimately this site requires so little actual moderation these days that I don't see the problem with giving members that are sticking with us their old names back in certain circumstances.

Having myself benefited from an account unbanning after a year, I'm not against going back to reinstating banned accounts on a case by case basis.

I'm not opposed to the idea of introducing (or re-introducing) some means of unbanning an account, either, though we need to sort out the details before outright saying "yeah, here's your account, have fun."

Sorry my response is a little delayed, but whenever you guys can get around to making a decision is fine with me. I'm not really in any rush, though it would be kinda neat to see my original join date (april of 2001) next to every post.

Returning to the policy of unbanning banned accounts after a year of good behavior on another account (or something similar) is under discussion.

Bear in mind that if it is reinstituted in some form or another that it won't necessarily or automatically apply to your old account.
