Seeing as the PS2 is pretty much dead in terms of new games (not counting sports games or movie/TV tie-ins there's been nothing since mid-2010), I thought it might be time to see how many people still have their PS2 and how many games they still own for it. I've actually been boosting my collection recently with some games that I either sold or thought that I should own. I'll put the full list up soon, but it will be increasing soon. I'm strictly buying good titles and rare ones (the two don't always cross over).

I've run into a few over the years that just made me go "that'll be a good one to have... maybe" so I get it. Repeated instances have meant that if my spreadsheet is correct I've somehow amassed 208 PS2 games although I'm sure I've played very few of them at this time. Nope. My copy of Ico is one of those purplish-blue compact discs, which none of my PlayStation 2s (at the time of purchase) liked to play. I recently bought another console, so I may be able to get through Ico now... but at this point I'm thinking I'll just pick up the HD remasters along with my PS3 later this year. And maybe The Last Guardian while I'm at it, if I like those.

I got these (and many others on that list) because I remembered hearing that they were good games. It's a shame the percentage of those games I've actually played is so low.
