ps3 issues..
Okay so while playing demon's souls i noticed some...hiccups one should say...audio would get out of sync or garbled...and it would become unplayable...the hiccups happent often..unplayability twice...then when i would quit the game the xmb would be choppy...some icons wouldn't show up etc.
Now i'm playing fallout 3 GOTY...my save file is gigantic...but i've gotten to a point where when i load the game i can't go a couple steps without the game freezing....now to be fair i've been downloading the GOW 3 demo all day...that could be the problem...i paused it still froze like that... is there a problem with my ps3? I'm still under warranty for two months...what should I do?

If its still under warranty then I don't see any harm in calling to see if they can do anything.
Don't want to wait and find out you need to pay $150 to get it fixed a few months down the road. |

You might wanna check how much hard drive space you have left. (System Options - System Information). If it's under say... a gig, (1000 MB) you might want to remove some things. Game Data for games you don't have/play anymore, extra save data, demos, PSN games you don't play, whatever. I rented a couple of games recently, and the Game Data was so large it almost filled up my PS3, and when I went to play one of them, there was some odd static feedback going on. I left the game, deleted some stuff, then it worked fine.

well i ran gow3 demo flawlessly...so it's either a disc reading problem(it did make a hell of a lot noise playing fallout 3) or simply a fallout 3 problem.

Ignore the Fallout 3 issues. Fallout 3: GOTY is notorious for having an inexcusable amount of problems on PS3.

sigh...awesome. well i cannot get two minutes into where i'm at without the game freezing.....should I take the game back? Are there ways to fix it? Also ran uncharted 2..and watched a dvd just fine...apparently demon's souls and fallout 3 just suck on ps3

Well I've had a few probs. with Fallout 3 GOTY edition, but only 1 freeze and random no XP moments. Those are normal, but you should delete the Game Utility Data again and make sure to install and get an update if needed. Also, try switching up the options in the Game Settings on the XMB bar and see if that does anything.

Did you upgrade to v3.01(or whatever the new firmware update is at)? There've been people having lots of problems with their Blu-Ray drive after updating, so it could be that.
Do you keep your PS3 clean. Blow it out with a can of air and dust it off with a swiffer or something. Good luck man. |
