Muramasa, The Demon Blade

Hi guys,

I'm trying to get some feedback on this game from the people that play it, it's not out in the UK yet but if anyone's played the Japanese/US version or seen the trailers etc, I'd be interested to know what you think of it!

Thankyou!

Have you played Odin Sphere for the PS2? I've not played Muramasa, but from what I've seen it looks to play exactly like it. Odin Sphere was a pretty mediocre and rather frustrating experience; limited inventory space forced you to "strategically" throw items onto the ground and return for them when necessary, enemies were plentiful and hit really hard, and the game suffered from extreme lag with big bosses or tons of enemies and effects on screen. The latter was mostly the fault of the PS2's hardware being overwhelmed, but all the same it made playing the game even more difficult.

As far as Muramasa is concerned, I hear Ignition Entertainment really dropped the ball with their localization efforts. Though all the same if you're looking for a side-scrolling beat-'em-up/action game for the Wii, your choices are fairly limited and you could probably do worse. Just do yourself a favor and see if Vanillaware did away with the horrendous inventory system and the lag before you make a purchase.

Just in case anyone wanted to know, it's apparently out on November 27th here.
