Halo Waypoint

ok so my friend is in the Microsoft Preview Program and he got this demo of a game called Halo Waypoint. He wont tell me what its about or anything, so my question to you is have you heard of it? what is it about? and yes I know the Waypoint system was used in Halo 2. any thoughts?

Pretty simple, Halo Waypoint is just basically a game that tracks your Halo3, Halo3: ODST progress. It's also the first game that incorporates the new Avatar awards system. I have the preview, its pretty cool, and a nice add-on for any Halo fan. You unlock Milestones and certain awards, like for me, I have the Monitor for a prop for my Avatar. Everyone will get it November, 5th, so just hang in there

It's not even a game, it's more of an application.

And 'Splosion Man was the first with Avatar awards. I think they're yet to be enabled though.

Basically, if you got the Xbox LIVE preview update, the whole facebook, twitter etc. Then it'll appear on your console for download, but its coming the 5th for everyone.

Ah I see. Well I got the update but it said facebook and twitter and the like are not available yet, I guess they were just priming the console for it.

I'll have to look into this when I get home, just look in the games catalog for it?

If I remember the video I watched about it, yeah, it is. Surely Bungie wouldn't make you pay for something that just tracks your progress?

People will pay for anything with the Halo logo on it, ODST is a good example of it too

its free for Xbox gold members. silver members will get a 30(?) day trial. not sure how long it is but i know they get a trial

I've looked all over my Xbox and can't find where I can download a preview of Halo: Waypoint. Where did you get it or are you just BSing?

Well, I got it and I got all of the awards because I have all but five firefight achievements on ODST!

I hope shortly they'll do awards for Halo 3 and Halo Wars. I've not played Halo Wars yet however this gives me a reason to actually do so now!

See, for some stupid reason this is the kind of crap that I always love, just like Netflix is huge to me. Kudos to Microsoft and Bungie for doing this!

I'm sure we shall see Reach integrated into this as well. WHEN IS THAT DAMN BETA COMING OUT?!?!?!
