Okay well I just saw this news and I have to say I am kinda excited. I miss my old N64 days of playing goldeneye I even played it about two years ago when I had my N64 hooked up. It took a while to get used to the graphics and to remember how to do the glitch of getting two different guns at the same time but it was still pretty fun for a little while.
I would like to see an updated version of this game since the last 007 game that I felt was really good was Nightfire for GameCube. Other then that there hasn't been many good ones. So updated graphics and maybe more weapons then before and maybe more levels and characters and online multiplayer could be pretty fun in my opinion. What are your takes on it if there are any old N64 Goldeneye fans out there still? ![]() The link is right here. Goldeneye update/remake/sequel? Check it out.

It's not as good as it sounds... it's more likely to be a sequel to Quantum of Solace gameplay-wise. I heard it's not that bad a game, but I'm sure most people would rather Microsoft and Nintendo would settle their differences and bring the original GoldenEye (and Perfect Dark for that matter) to the 360 and Wii with online multiplayer.

What happened ages ago was that apparently they were about a week away from getting GoldenEye on both Wii and 360 when one side changed the goalposts. Since then it's been no turning back and the opportunity seems to have been missed. They've given up on it happening now...

Yeah well I heard about that before from somewhere else. But I don't want a download version thats basically the same. I want an updated one with better graphics and more detail and more levels maybe and such. That is what im looking for. I can take out my N64 and play the old version whenever I want but I want new graphics and more detail and maybe more levels and maybe AI in the multiplayer that would be fun. Thats what they could do with a new one.
And in all cases if they do decide to make a remake or sequel of rogue agent they could at least completely re do it and make it a lot better with more guns and such.

I think what they should do is make an updated version for just the Xbox 360 and release the classic on Wii Shop, both would have online multiplayer. Or they could release both an updated version and a classic version on both Xbox 360 and Wii Shop and just have a demo to compare the features so if people want to take a stab at the updated version they can atleast get a demo to see if they like it before they blow some cash on it. But really in the end if I want to play Goldeneye I'll just hook up the ol N64 and get some guys to play it with me, the only way I would ever pay money for an updated version was if it totally blew the original out of the water and was just as amazing. But I highly doubt it will happen seeing as the only good 007 games were made 2 generations ago.

i quite honestly think developers need to stop trying to make a successor to Goldeneye and just take there time on making a new james bond game that doesn't suck, heck they could take a cue from Fallout 3 on that, make a james bond game with RPG elements, dialogue usage, every action has a consequence. That would make things a bit interesting, i love goldeneye, but i think its time for the developers to stop trying to make a Successor to it, and like i said just take there time with it.
