I'm pretty sure it has a fan built in otherwise it would probably melt into itself. It runs cooler than the original PS3 so I don't see why that is a problem.

I hear a lot of the cooling systems do nothing but cause more problems than they solve so i would highly recommend you to not get one if they come out with one someday.

They only cause more problems than they solve if they are sharing their power with the console. Otherwise there is absolutely no risk to using them, though they may be loud.

If it works and doesn't burn out your PS3, hey more power to ya. If it does you might have a fun time getting it repaired. I just know I have heard nothing but bad things about intercoolers, so this is why i don't trust them and prolly never will.

I don't think you'd need a cooling system unless Sony didn't test their console to see if it overheats and stuffs like that.

Say if you hear something bad about a '74 pinto wagon...Would you take everything you heard that was bad about it and assume that the other of Ford's makes and models were just as bad? It's THAT much of a difference.

It is really all about personal preference, I am personally skeptical on the effectiveness and the dangers of using an intercooler. I see it as something not needed, my PS3 has never overheated and it doesn't take much to keep it from not overheating, and its the 90nm chipset. I respect your views on intercoolers and I think we can agree to disagree

I'm sure than have some cooling protection built in, but I have seen websites that offer external cooling systems for PS3s.
Here are links to three different ones: http://www.amazon.com/Joytech-Playst...7788462&sr=8-1 http://www.amazon.com/Mega-Power-Min...7788462&sr=8-3 http://www.amazon.com/Deluxe-USB-Coo...7788462&sr=8-5 |

You don't need an intercooler. Waste of money. Just be thankful you didn't get one of the 360s on release that were melting themselves. |
