Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs
I'm sure this came out ages ago in the States, but did anybody see it? I only saw it recently, and only because it is a typical 'date' movie (I was on a date you see). And I did actually quite enjoy it. Not the best movie ever made, or even the best kids movie, but decent enough. Got a few laughs and had some charm to it. It looked fantastic as well, which isn't normally worth a mention in films, but is for this one.
So yeah, decent. What did everyone else think?

I actually just watched this yesterday. 9:30 PM showing so no annoying kids.
![]() I loved the randomness of the humor... I also loved how it didn't spare anytime to make you laugh right off the bat with them clocking the Columbia Pictures Statue Logo with a giant banana and stating that the movie was made by "A lot of people" in the opening credits. One of my favorite parts happened later in the movie when the food storm starts hitting cities worldwide and then Al Roker's character takes note at how the storm is oddly striking the most important landmarks around the world first before hitting the rest of the smaller less significant places. I thought it was a nice amusing jab at the disaster movie genre. So far this movie and Zombieland are the best movies of the fall thus far.

I had a chance to see it, but it seemed to lean towards the kiddy side instead of "pixar family greatness" so I skipped it, but maybe I'll check it out now. |

I don't think it's greatness level. If I had kids I would probably buy it for them to watch, but I can't see myself considering it absolutely classic in a few years like the Pixar films. Worth a watch if there is nothing else more burning that you need to see.

I'd have to say UP and Inglorious Basterds have been my two favorite movies this year and nothing really comes close. |

Anyways, Up was released in May for us Americans... Inglorious Basterds came out in August. Out of movies released between Labor Day Weekend and Halloween, Zombieland and Meatballs are easily the best movies released. ...thus far... though besides maybe Where the Wild Things Are, the rest of October doesn't look too promising. Just another s**tty Saw movie and some filler movies.

Meh, the best is a toss up between Toy Story 2 and The Incredibles. Besides, Finding Nemo and Wall-E were coined as the best Pixar movies and those ended up disappointing me... as a Pixar movie anyways.

I was disappointed with Up. Still worth the price of admission but I thought it was a weak Pixar movie.
I do want to see this one but hate going to theaters so I assume I'll see it when it gets a release on Blu Ray. |
