New Release: Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days

No idea what the 358/2 means, but the game was released today in the US, and on October 9th in Europe. It's also got a metascore of 72 which puts it currently around 190 on the best DS games list.

I haven't picked the game up yet, but from the reviews I've read it seems pretty good. I will definitely be getting it as soon as I get the money.

As for the 358/2 thing, according to IGN it is pronounced "three five eight days over 2", and they apparently know what it means, but the only hint they gave was to think about it. I still have no clue what it means.

Straight away I saw it as a division sum which equals 179, but I might have to have played the 3 previous games to get it...

I picked this game up last night and I like it a lot. It has (in my opinion) the best 3d graphics to be put on the ds thus far. I have played all the games and I have no idea what the 358/2 means either. In the game you begin on day 7 of when Roxas joins the organization and play through a ton of days, but I don't think there are 358 of them....lmao. I will look in my strategy guide when I get home to let you know if there are 358 days to play through.

I picked up the game yesterday at about noon and finally had time to play it today. Awesome graphics so far, more storyline clarity, it seems a lot like chain of memories only without the card battle system . One thing I will say though is mission mode seems incredibly hard in comparison to story mode, not sure why.

in response to the guy above me....mission mode is supposed to be harder because it is supposed to be played with other people. I have the strategy guide and it says that during mission mode all enemies have 3x their normal health so that when there are 4 people swinging at it, it has a chance to attack back....though not much of a chance.

well i must say. the game was a big success, i was expecting to see something like the chain of memories. or maybe something like the zelda series tried. but im very happy with the graphics that they put into this. its just like playing the KH1 on PS2, but with a handheld system. im also happy about the game play. the panal system was a great thing to add to a handheld style game, takeing the fact that handheld games cant hold much memory in the first place. story line is very awesome on top of that. the way they make your partners and still keep in line with 1, 1/2, and 2 is just some real work. *SPOILER* for example the way that in #2 they have xal take the rose, and in the game they make u partner up with him and figure out about the rose just makes u think they put alot of effort into it *SPOILER END* i still dont understand the fact of the name, but then i havnt completed the game yet. as a kindom hearts fan, i am very appreicative of the time and effort they put into makeing this one.

and becuase i cant find the edit button, i must correct myself. in the SPOILER section, what i should have said was that, it makes u catch on the the back story about it. and not how in number 2, he just see him stumble upon it.

i hear rumors of there being a "Dual Wield" feature, but when i try the dual power, 4 sloted thing, and i put the 3 ability links in it. it doesnt come up. so im curious on how to unlock it.

any thoughts?

The "zero" weapon you can buy for 30k heart points at the end is special, especially for Roxas. It has an effect for a certain amount added to it.
0 ability panel = regular keyblade, usable anywhere
1 ability panel = oathkeeper, usable anywhere
2 ability panels = two over one(?) usable anywhere (it's the keyblade you get as a reward in KH 2 final mix after you beat Roxas.
3 ability panels = upgraded regular keyblade in story mode and duel wield in mission mode.
In Xion's case, she gets all of the same as Roxas besides the duel wield in mission mode. It will be a regular upgraded keyblade in mission mode for her.
Also note, this weapon changes the rest of the characters' weapons, but some of the secret characters get a brand new weapon from it.

Hope this helped a bit! I finished the game a bit ago, now finishing all the challenges and stuff. It's still fun.

There has been a bit of controversy going on with the title and what it actually means. One hypothesis that I agree with is that the 358 counts as the days, which would makes sense, seeing as the game lasts for the 358 days Roxas is in the Organization. The reason why it is pronouned three-five-eight, on the otherhand, is confusing to me.
The last part, "/2" (over-two), I would think refers to either Roxas+Axel's or Roxas+Xion's friendship over the time and how they live their lives during this time. I prefer to think it is Roxas+Xion's friendship for these reasons:
*MAJOR SPOILER STARTING* 
1: Nomura said we would understand what the title means at the end of the game, and since Xion disappears on the 357th day and forgotten on the 358th day, she would be there the whole time we see Roxas (or near at least).
2: It is stated that Xion and Roxas both have a deep connection with Sora, so the "over-two" could symbalize them two, seeing as they are just about the same thing.

The 358/2 means that there is 358 days in the game and I'm just guessing that the "over 2" means that you live it over twice. I find for me is that the recon missions are actually pretty hard when you don't know where to look.

How do you do the recon in the cave of wonders with Xion I'm stuck where you come out of the door and if you hit the lever a door closes,but it's not the one behind you.

It is reallllllly hard for me to find a way to beat that!!!

it means that 358/2 days is that thats how many days has roxas been in the organazation its the easyest clue once the get the game

the u are right but the correct reason is that roxas has been in the organazation for 358 days and over 2 means idk but i think u play as sora with another 358 days
