Mars Matrix

I had dowloaded the Gens emulator, and I was checking out some of the games, when I came across one I had never seen before, M.U.S.H.A. When I was playing it, I fell in love with it right away, and it kept giving me a sense of deja vu. I had only played Mars Matrix for like a week back when it came out, and they seem extremely similar to me now. Anyone think they are a little too similar? And which one do you guys prefer? (Im not saying MM is a ripoff fyi)

I know that this post was from some time ago, but you brought up the classic M.U.S.H.A While I enjoy both games, I don't feel that the games are too similar. M.U.S.H.A. offers excellent gameplay, stellar level designs, and excellent balance. Were as Mars Matrix is a solid shooter with some of the best bullet hell stylings, yet the deflect laser makes the game ultimately a weak title.
Some of the best shooters are nail bitting tough and challenging like Batsugun. Other than both being vertical shooters and in the genre, they are not very similar. If you have a DC, check out Takhumi's Gigawing 1 and 2. Designed by the same studio as Mars Matrix and offers a deflection barrier.

That sounds reasonable. I guess I haven't realy played that many side scroll shooters then. But has anyone actually gotten the 9999++++ credits you need to get that last bonus? The BG Graphics or something like that? Now THAT sound kind of crazy.

I actually never heard of anyone getting the bonus, but I'm sure someone has. I actually haven't played my copy of Mars Matrix in along time, too busy playing some of the other shooters I like more. If you liked M.U.S.H.A., you should check out some of these games:
