Would it ever be possible.....

.....for Metallica and Megadeth to forget their differences and share the stage on a tour? I know Ulrich and Hetfield want or have wanted nothing to do with Mustaine in the past, but after his "finding god" thing, Mustaine seems like he's a helluva lot more forgiving than he used to be. It's been almost 30 years since Mustaine pretty much got kicked out of Metallica, and both bands are still together, so why wouldn't this become a reality in the future? Short of a full on Led Zepplin/Pink Floyd reunion, this would probably be the highest selling tour in history.

there is approximately 0.001% chance of that ever happening, with a 0.001% margin of error.
Mustaine is still bitter about the whole thing, and he would know that doing such a thing would open up old wounds. plus, there's no way he would accept being the "support" act, as he surely would be.
from Metallica's point of view, they wouldn't want to risk being blown off the stage by Megadeth every night (Megadeth being the better live act these days), and given the slating they gave Mustaine of the Some Kind of Monster commentary, they don't much care for the guy.

Fixed.

But seriously, you'd think that after almost 30 YEARS they'd be a little tired of the bickering that goes on between them occaisionally. And the only problem I see is deciding who goes on before who, unless they played eachother's songs together, but then hetfield would probably crapify all of Mustaine's songs on purpose and get his head smashed into a stage monitor by the shredding frenchman.

Well, when you have a rich guy in your band who whines about how filesharing is crippling your sales then what can you expect?

This is already turning into a Metallica<Megadeth/Metallica sold out thread...

To answer your question, as Powerslave had said, it will not happen. And the biggest problem I believe if it happened would be the ego factor. There is no doubt in my mind Metallica would headline, but both are extremely large bands, however Metallica has been able to reach more popular audiences and therefore would end up headlining, but I can still see the egos of James/Lars/Dave getting in the way.

Personally, I don't want it to happen because I'm not much of a Megadeth fan and I think it would end up somehow screwing up both those bands a little, but it still would be nice to see.

Post So deep in my daydreams, but it's just a sweet, sweet fantasy baby...

I think both bands would prefer to keep doing their own thing; apart from each other. A concert like this is just fantasy.
Your head is throbbing with pain...
Your lungs feel as if they are on fire...
The red spots on your neck get bigger every day...
Every vein in your body has turned black...
You cough and hold your quivering hand up to your face...
You see drops of blood...
You can feel it growing...
You have The virus...

Maybe it's just me, but I've always found Megadeth to be a bit overrated anyway.

This isn't to say that the fanboys don't heavily overrate Metallica either, but. I've never been able to get into Megadeth the way I did Metallica.

I've seen 'Tallica live once, it was a great show. I've never seen Megadeth live, and frankly don't really care to.

So even if this show happened, I don't think I'd go to it.

I think the whole situation is bullsh*t. I bet it wouldn't be half as bad if people would ever quit asking about it.

Now I don't mean like in forums like this thread or anything, but in articles and interviews, they ALWAYS have to ask about the feud. I bet there wouldn't be one if the media would stay away from the subject, but both bands always get reminded of it so it's hard to let it go.

A late entry, but anyone that says Metallica sold out should be shot from a cannon into a wall. All they did was change tuning for their last couple albums and it didn't sit well on a large scale. Yes, St. Anger was horrible, but the songs on the radio they play from their new album (Coming this September) sounds tits because they went back to their old tuning.

I wish every Metallica song could be I, Disappear.

If I heard you correctly, there are Metallica songs on the radio that are from the new album? The only songs I have heard are those two that were played live.

i hate the whole "sold out" bs too, but they definitely did more than just use different tunings, they drastically changed their sound from thrash to straightforward heavy metal/rock.

Along with no solo's, trash can snares, and the signature Hetfield voice lost.

Yeah, Lars just plain sucks nowadays. Hetfield and Hammet are really the only ones carrying that band anywhere anymore.
