Put your songs into Windows Media Player, and then import those files into iTunes. It will automatically convert them from WMA to AAC and be playable on your iPod.

Actually its more simple than that. Download iTunes, put CD in computer, iTunes will bring up the copying window.

I don't see the problem with iTunes. It's very intuitive.

Yeah, but if you're like me, having only AAC files is a bad thing. For one, if I want to put those files on a different MP3 player someday, I'm screwed

Plus, my music editing software doesn't recognize AAC as well as WMA.

So yeah. Having them in both is a plus.

If he only needs it for an iPod then it would be just as easy and less time consuming to do it through iTunes.

Arrow There's something about a waitress...

You can change the file format that iTunes converts into, AAC is only the default because it's Apple's proprietary format. I have my iTunes set to convert everything imported into MP3 specifically because it's more versatile, as Joz mentioned.

Haha, do people still seriously rip CDs to WMA? What is this, 1995? All of your ears are broken.

The best solution is to rip using a proper app (EAC, CDex etc), using a proper codec (LAME 3.97) with the proper parameters (-V0 VBR). Then let iTunes do whatever crimes against standards it does to get it onto your fashionPod.

Someone's computer illiterate or I'm just misunderstanding what you are trying to ask.

Itunes is a program that you download from the Itunes website. Then, using the program, you can download songs to your computer and then put them on an Ipod, rip songs from a CD, arrange your music library, etc. Really, it's quite simple.

It's pretty simple. You get an installation CD with an iPod. That CD contains a program. That program is called iTunes. You install this program onto your computer. Your computer that has Windows on it.

It plays music files on your computer, allows you to purchase music from the iTunes store, and rip CDs to put onto your iPod.

If you don't understand that you should forget getting an iPod and stick with cassettes.

Arrow You make me break out...

Your computer can't play any music? Are you sure about that? If you had an mp3 file and iTunes, you'd find out.
