Sexy music? (valentines day)

Part 4. The Music.

Alright I am planning something romantic for "that special someone" and I need something romantic. I have a marvin gaye and a Barry white cd but thats only a joke. Just something to make her laugh. But I need something a bit more modern. Apparently System of a Down, Metallica, Korn, and Hendrix is not romantic music.

I was going to play Josh groban but its too much like an opera.

Also tell me about the music to prevent spam. ..

Like for example. Barry White has got to be the most romantic voice in the world. The music is nice and slow. . .and so smooth.

Ben Folds - The Luckiest. amazingly slow, lyrically beautiful song, professing his love for that "certain someone".

Ben Lee - Love Me Like The World Is Ending. With the first few lyrics being "it's the first day of the future, and all I want is you", it's amazing. It's upbeat and poppy, so if you're looking for something slower, I'd be warry of this.

Weather Report - A Remark You Made. Nothing's better than Joe Zaniwul on keys, and Wayne Shorter on Sax. (I don't think Jaco was in Weather Report at htis time). Jazz Fusion ballad, with amazing melodies and harmonies.

The Slip - If One of Us Should Fall. Great indie rock ballad, even better band.

OAR - Nasim Joon. Increidble blues-type ballad, with some great sax interludes. The lead singer's voice is very romantic, and this is probably the only song (aside from Dakota) on this particular album that features his voice.

The Moldy Peaches - Anyone Else But You. With the success of Juno and it's soundtrack, I imagine most people on this board know this song. The lyrics are "cute", the music is very (very) basic, and it creates a nice little atmosphere.

John Coltrane - Naima. Be-Bop ballad, with piano taking a big solo, and Coltrane soloing on the sax, like he does best.

Hotel Lights - Let Me Be The One. Great indie rock song, with a nice synth lead into, before Darren Jesse's voice kicks in.

Iron and Wine - Such Great Heights. I don't relaly need to say why, do I?

Anything from the Garden State Soundtrack could/would work. Specifically Blue Eyes by Cary Brothers.

I have more, but I cant think of any right now

Well, the song Beast of Burden by The Rolling Stones is 1/1 for me. Granted it was unintentional but it worked out well. The lyrics are great but maybe not necessarily what you're looking for. I had a good time though.

Another song that brings back some memories is We Looked Like Giants by Death Cab for Cutie.

I dont know about that though . . . I tried listening to it and imagine it while eating dinner with her but its too "rocky" and upbeat. . . But i think ill add Death Cab for cutie for my own personal collection. But thanks alot for your contribution.

Post Wanna tell you how good it feels, when you look at me that way...

Air - "Playground Love" easily a top pick. One of the best sax solos ever, and an interesting mix of moody vocals and electronica.

Massive Attack - "Angel" and "Safe From Harm" Massive Attack is a goldmine of moody music, some of it is a little to eccentric to be classified as 'sexy' though. Those are good starting points though.

Tori Amos - "Carnival" a great slow rhythm and haunting female vocals.

Martina Topley-Bird - "Sandpaper Kisses" Very moody and interesting.

Goldfrapp - "Let It Take You", and "Utopia" these are a little...well Goldfrapp can be an acquired taste. Take it or leave it.

Deftones - "Lucky You" Forget the other Deftones songs you've heard, this one stands apart, almost like it was a different band entirely that recorded it.

Depeche Mode - "Freelove" just give the lyrics a listen, you'll get it.

Loreena McKinnett - "Marco Polo" and "Night Ride Across The Caucaus" both are almost entirely instrumental tracks (Loreena lends some melody direction and lyrics here and there) both display some Eastern and/or Celtic influence.

David Gray - "Please Forgive Me" he's better known for being melancholy, but here's a great positive song.

Jack Johnson - "Better Together", "Cupid" simple acoustic songs, they're a little more upbeat.
Your head is throbbing with pain...
Your lungs feel as if they are on fire...
The red spots on your neck get bigger every day...
Every vein in your body has turned black...
You cough and hold your quivering hand up to your face...
You see drops of blood...
You can feel it growing...
You have The virus...

Marvin Gaye for class. Always by Blink-182 and This Velvet Glove by Red Hot Chili Peppers if you think they might work. What Is Love by Haddaway if you are trying to be funny. Blast Tyrant by Clutch is you're me (It's a long story).

Edit: If*

Also Love Song by The Cure if you wanna be cliche.

Maybe it is just me, but I find some of Pink Floyd's stuff to be pretty arousing. Especially Comfortably Numb.

I would suggest "Closer", by Nine Inch Nails, or "You Shook Me All Night Long", by AC/DC should get the job done. Of course I'd only suggest these for when the van is a rockin, as they're more *starts talking in Borat voice* sexy time muzak.
