Super dramatic songs/Holy music/emotional (not emo) of all media-tv, games, anime ect

The reason why I am posting this is because im making a home movie soon and I need some Battle dramatic music and i need some examples so that I can make my own music. So tell me what kind of dramatic music youve heard and why you believe so.

1. Chop suey - system of a down. Serj Tankians voice is my favorite all around. the song is dramatic and complex. . . but it doesnt really fit into my movie. . . However im planning to copy the beginning of the end part (the father part), For a dramatic ending only with piano and string instruments.

2. Metal Gear Solid 3 - The beginning theme. Very dramatic. But too complex for me.

3. Stairway to heaven - from the intro before the solo to a couple of seconds after the solo. Nice and dramatic. But doesnt really go with my movie.

4. Song of prayer - Final fantasy. That is great for an ending of a drama. Planning on using the piano and vocal versions. If only I can find the sheet music.

5. Various final fantasy songs - very dramatic but The only sheet music i can find is the ff7 advent children one. If anyone knows where I can buy final fantasy sheet music that would be awesome.

6. The halo soundtrack of course. I love singing the monk version. It goes great with an intro to a movie.

If you are looking for Dramatic Piano songs then look for any Dax Johnson song that isn't on his vocal album, The Beauty of Human Error. Really good stuff. I would suggest his album, The Random and the Purpose.

If you are looking for a good dramatic rock song I would say One by Metalica has a really good beginning acoustic riffs and a little solo and there are some very powerful dark dramatic riffs and a great solo.

Some of my favorites are

"Brick" by Ben Folds Five- Lyrical content and vocal performance put me over the top. Beautiful song about a ripped apart person.

"Levon" by Elton John- This is a classic and probably my favorite Elton John song. Great piano performance in my opinion as well.

"As Your Voice Fades" by Emery- I guess this is emo but this is a very emotional song that makes me depressed again.

"Some Seek Forgiveness, Others Escape" by Underoath- If you're looking for a more Christian song with some emotion, then here you go.

That's just a few off the top of my head.

"Nothing Else Matters" by metallica, and "Crucify" by Yngwie Malmsteen seem to fit the bill, as does "Aerials" by SOAD. Those songs are just epic.

I wouldn't say ripped apart...the song is about how his girlfriend got pregnant and they decided it would be best to have an abortion. Another song about abortion; "The Freshman" by the Verve Pipe

As far as epic; "O Fortuna" by Carl Orff is as epic as they come.

Ben Folds - Fred Jones Pt 2 is fairly depressing...if you want to use that (not emo).

Either The Wallflowers or David Bowie's versions of "Heroes", is always a good fit in a movie with a happy ending...

The Verve - "The Drugs Don't Work" is an very slow, kind of depressing song.

"Battle Without Honor or Humanity" by Tomayasu Hotei is good for a fight scene, it was used in Kill Bill, for reference.

"Hurt" by NIN (or Johnny Cash; both are haunting). Very intense, but slow and soft songs.

If you go on iTunes (to buy the song) "In This Legacy" by Monty Are I, would be fairly good for a big scene. "Destroy what you built, give up the will", etc.

"Velvet Cell" by Gravenhurst is pretty good as well, a relatively soft, but lyrically intense song.

Yea, I mean, I know what the song is about. But he's commented on how it was the hardest thing he's ever been through and how he regrets it despite the song being neutral.

Speaking of Cash, the song that plays at the beginning of the new Dawn of the Dead is scary as hell. Not sure what it's called though but I can't imagine it being to hard to find. Another song that sends shivers down my back is In The Fade by The Queens of The Stone Age. Oh how I love that song. Wait, it's dramatic music you want?... Ok, dpending on what kinda tension there is I'd say either Gun by Soundgarden (If you're building up to something) or Freya by The Sword, as it's the best battle song of all-time. Seriously, there's this repitious, wordless part in the song that I always imagined as a battle between two incredible armies. Every time he hits the three-note sequence a different arrow in the side or axe in the back of a different uniformed assailer. Badass.

I wish every Metallica song could be I, Disappear.

In that case, you HAVE to check out Explosion in the Sky. They played all the instrumental music on the Friday Night Lights Soundtrack. Give them a shot.

That song is caled "When the man comes around".

You shoud check out "In a heartbeat" by John Murphy, from the 28 Days Later soundtrack. Also, "Another Hero Lost" by Shadows Fall. It's not really a battle song, but its about soldiers dying in war, so it would be great for ending credits or something.

Another one is "The Green Feilds of France". specifically the cover by Dropkick Murphy's. Also about soldiers dying in battle.

Mein Teil by Rammstein is a very dramatic song, especially if you know the meaning behind the song.

Betrayed Me by Adema is pretting dramatic too, about obviously being betrayed.

Down With The Sickness by Disturbed, this song is SO Angry that it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up, still very amazing song.

Boom by System of a Down is a very dramatic song that drives an Important point.

Ghost Opera by Kamelot.

Deep and meaningful, as well as one of the best songs of last year.

"Ghost Love Score" by Nightwish is a 10 minute dramatic epic, it's wonderful to sit and listen to.

"Reflection" by Tool, a bit different, but it's epic and it's emotion is a bit different, but it definitely hits plenty of high points.

"Figure 8" by Memento is another in a similar vein, very epic, lots of stuff going on here, definitely plenty of emotion in this track.
