Going to Matchbox Twenty!!!!!

I won tix on ebay (I don't know how reliable this is) and I am going to Matchbox Twenty in Charlotte NC.

YES. It is my 3rd favorite band ( Creed and Alter Bridge are the other two).

It is this tuesday and I am sooooo pumped.
I have never been to a concert.

Congrats, man! First concert huh? I remember my first concert back in like '95 or something, Man I'm getting old. Anyway, be sure to enjoy yourself and I hope they put on a cool show! The first concert you go to is probably going to be a very memorable one for you, so have fun man!

How should I prepare myself for this?

Bomb my ears out with loud music?
Because I have no intentions of wearing earplugs.

How else should I prepare myself?

I saw them back in 2002 (on the More Than You Think You Are tour) and they were phenomenal. They played every song from that album, plus all the significant radio hits. I'm seeing them again in February and I can't wait.

As for your ears, I think they'll be fine. Let us know how the show goes.

Well I'm not sure about that type of concert, but my brother (who goes to concerts almost weekly) wears them at every concert and I've worn them at the few concerts I've been to (except Warped Tour, but that was outside) and I don't know how anybody could survive without ear plugs. I can make it through the opening band without ear plugs, but that's it.

I know every Matchbox Twenty song (even songs that they did in their other band) so anything they play will be awesome.

Your ears aren't like muscles, 'bombing' them with loud music isn't going to make them tolerate loud concerts any better...if anything; just the opposite.

You're already prepared because you are so pumped up for the show! I wouldn't bomb my ears, you wanna be able to hear at the show! I see some other people say you should wear earplugs. That is a good idea, although I've never used them at the dozens of shows I've been to. The first show I went to, my ears were ringing 2-3 days after the show was over. Nowadays, they ring only after the show is over, maybe overnight or rarely into the next morning. Although when I saw Black Sabbath a few years back, it was another 2-3 days. Those guys play LOUD! And yeah, have fun and be sure to keep us all posted!
