Worst thing to happen to your Memory Card

Okay, I'm just going to say that some of the memory cards are next to invincible. For instance, my Memory card has gone through my washing machine AND dryer about 8 times now. The only time it's ever messed up was when it erased my KO's on SSBM. Have any of your memory cards had anything similiar to this?

Worst thing ever: Putting Card into the Gamecube, then having it still say "No Memory Card in Slot A." Really pissed me off.

Ya, something similiar to that happened to me. I was at my friends house I put in my memory card and it brought up the same thing. I took it out and blew into it, thinking that it had some dust in it. I put it back in and it still couldn't read it. So, getting frustrated, I yanked it out and looked into it. Inside, there was a thin piece of paper on the memory part.

tbh, nothing really. I have two: one for US and one for JP games. the US one has a crack in it, IDK how that happened, but that's about it.

Hmmmm. Kinda a pointless thread that could have went in my "worst thing that has happened to your GC" thread, but anyway. My GC fell off a 2 foot table with the MC in it and it [MC] hit the floor first. So basicly the MC got jammed real hard in my GC but it still works perfect. Nintendo makes such great products. :gamecube:

Nothing... I never take it out, and it never really gets damaged. However, I do believe I may have run it through the wash once.

The only problem I've ever had was when my Super Smash Bros. Melee data somehow disappeared. Other than that, my memory cards have worked just fine. I know some third party memory cards sometimes erase on their own, so I only rely on Nintendo and Mad Katz for my memory card needs.
Misty: They're not mature enough to admit it, but they really like each other.
Tracy: You know what? It's exactly the same thing with you and Ash.
Ash & Misty: YOU MUST BE CRAZY!!!!!
Ash: Wow, imagine Brock.....married!
Misty: You and I will be married someday, too.
Ash: Um hmm.............................Huh?!
We may not know Misty's last name right now, but in
the future she could be known as Misty Ketchum!

Ya, about a year ago it had snowed on a monday. I was just glad to get out of school and be able to work on collecting the trophies on SSBM. So I go and turn it on and it displays that there is no memory on the card for SSBM. So I turn my GC off and the on, going to the place that shows the data. And right there, there was no SSBM memory on my card.

Well, around 2 years ago, I took my memory card over to my cousin's house so we could play some of my game files. When we were done playing Gamecube, I put my memory card in my pocket and we went outside and started fooling around. My memory card accidentally slipped out of my pocket while we were riding our bikes and then set next to his road for two weeks. In those two weeks it rained almost everyday. One day, when I went back over to my cousin's house, my aunt came inside and was asking us what she found outside. Sure enough it was my memory card. I plugged it into my cousin's Gamecube and all my files were there, and I never had a problem with it.

I had the same problem with my 3rd party nyko memory card said it had no data then i reseted the game then it loaded the data. So I dodged a bullet there. Other than that I havent had any gamecube memory card problems.
Sig is blank until I can think of something to put in here.

Really? And it still works? That's amazing.
I've used to get the "There is no card is Slot A" quite often years back, but now that never happens. Those Action Reply Memory cards don't always work too well.

My Spyro: A Hero's Tail Memrory got corrupted over and over again... currently trying it again but no problems yet. That's about the only problem I've ever had with my memory card.

well, a while back i bought a 128mb third-party card that is about twice the size of an ordinary card. First it corrupted my Megaman data. Then its plastic casing came unclipped, revealing the bare chip (cool, but useless.) so now it survives on a piece of duct tape holding all three pieces together.

The most annoying thing is that the chip tends to slide back into the oversized case and not make full contact until you take it apart and fix it.

It wasn't the entire memory card just that game, but it really pissed me off!
