Quake 4

Hey i couldnt find the forum for this game so i dont think there is any. Anyway this seems like a revelent place to post this. I've been having this problem in quake 4 near the beggining of the game where you have to escott the medic to the injured guy. the escott does not follow you up to a point and he just runs around in circles. i've been told its a bug and i should restart the game and it will work. i've tried this twice and it still gives me this prob. pls help?
