See the new announcement?
So the Incorrect Cheat Forum is asking for help to identify bad codes on the Gamewinners cheat section. I propose that we totally school and come up with a list that we can post all at once.
We obviously won't be able to do them all, but I think that many of you would know if a code is bogus or not. Go ahead and post any codes that you've noticed before as being wrong and find any more if you can. If you have any questions, you can discuss them here. |

All weapons:
Pause game play, then press Right, Left, Up, Down(2), A, B, A, Down. A sound will confirm correct code entry. Unlimited ammunition: Pause game play, then press Up, Down, Left, A, B. A sound will confirm correct code entry. both of these do not work ive tried them and looking on any other cheat site the only cheat for this game is the cheat for 20 lives |

Alright, not as much discussion as I had hoped. So I will start it off. I think deathbypinto was talking about Contra, so it looks like so far we have two debunked codes:
P.O.W
Alright, good start, but are the other codes, specifically unlimited lives and level select, good codes? |

Alright, fixed.
But now Contra. Looking at the other thread, it seems like there was only one code that worked, I don't know about some of them. Any confirmation on these not working? Unlimited lives: Press Up, Down, Up, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, A, B, A, B, Select, Start when "Jungle" appears on the demonstration screen. All weapons: Press Down(2), Up(2), Right, Left, Right, Left, A + B before the demonstration begins at the title screen. Level select: Press Up(2), Down(2), Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start(2) at the main menu. Expert mode: Successfully complete the game and start another game. The new game will feature the same amount of lives at the end of the last game and more difficult opponents. Alternate ending sequence: Hold Select + Start during the ending sequence, but before the credits begin. Keep the buttons held until the credits end to see a message from Red Falcon. Information in this section was contributed by nnicky. Sound test (Japanese version): Hold B + A and press Start at the title screen to display the sound test screen to hear the game's sound effects and music. |

Awsome, any verification from someone else? I know it seems like overkill, but they want a double confirmation. Any other codes you guys want to try out would be super.
I suppose we can just go a game at a time. Once I get access to my nes I'll help out on a few of them. |

Just let me know any games you want to test, I have a pretty big collection, and I'll be happy to help with any of the games that I have.

It doesn't really apply to the NES section, but the "Sunken Ship" code in N64's Banjo-Kazooie is fake.
It's been reported, and I've found it in the archives, but the cheat's still up and I don't know where else to report it but here. In any case, maybe the main guys who run the site need to be reminded... (I hope this isn't taken the wrong way. I'm not trying to p!ss people off.)
