And find that someone has thrown out about 20-30 nes and snes game boxes. I of course dig out all of them.

Most still have all the original pamphlets and instructions and even plastic wrappings for the cartridges. My question is whether or not one could auction them on ebay for any significant amount.

Some of the more interesting nes boxes are as follows

Bad Street Brawler
Championship Pool
Empire Strikes Back
Mega Man 4
Mega Man 5

It sounds weird thinking that I dug these out of the trash, but it just felt so wrong letting them disappear.

Honestly, I have no clue as to the $ value... I guess I'm a sentimental collector.

I thought most video games depreciated in value with age...

I wouldnt say significant value but people will probably want them. Some people want a complete game need to have 3 major things: game cart, instruction book, and the box/packaging. Its tough to find all those at once so sometimes people buy them seperately and complete the game themselves. Im sure Empire Strikes Back and the Mega Man games could stir some interest. Look up NES boxes on Ebay and see what the norm is.

I'm sure you could sell some of those boxes. I know I would probably buy a box for one of my games. My friend says that there are many buyers for boxes like that, especially the more rare ones(of course). I have to agree, I would dig them out just as you did Zelden. That's a nice find though there Zelden, too bad they were only the boxes eh?

I searched through every one of them in hopes they mistakenly left one inside, but all I got was itchiness from all the dust they had accumulated.

I decided that I might wanna start a small collection, so I went ahead and bought the mega man games and empire strikes back off Amazon. While l was looking around I saw a complete boxed Empire Strikes Back going for 99 bucks.

I figured it would be a good investment, or at least cheap entertainment and a warm feeling.

When I was younger, I found the first Mega Man game with its box in a consignment shop. It was 17 dollars at the time and seemed so expensive but I knew it would be a good investment. If I could find the manual book and make it complete then the value would increase even more. Im not into collecting for the financial gain but its interesting to know. Seems that anything Star Wars related goes for crazy amounts of money.
