EV troubles

Hi all. Is there a way to actually check how many EVs a pokemon has? I ask this because I have a great deal of difficulty keeping track of my EVs as I EV train. Now that I am attempting to train a defensive pokemon, it takes even longer to acquire the EVs. Call me slow, but it seems almost impossible for me to keep track of the EVs. I try to use the counter app on the poketch, but there's always that doubt in my mind that I didn't count correctly, or that I may have forgotten to count a few after a match. So that leads me back to my original question: Is there a way to check? It would make my life a whole lot easier if there was. Thanks.

No. The only way to know how many EVs a pokemon has at that stage when it has 510 Evs. The girl in Sunyshore market will give your pokemon an Effort ribbion if it has 510 EVs. Otherwise no.

As Shur'tugal said, there isn't.

What I do is use the counter app to count how many battles I've done with the trainer I'm using to EV train, then add up the EV's as I go. But then again, you could also use plain old pencil and paper.

I'm just thinking it's more of a mental block. Like at some point after a battle, I won't be certain if I recorded it or not, and have to start over to make sure. Now this question might be borderline spam, but what does everyone else do to be certain how many EVs a pokemon is getting?

Always record how many EVs you got from a battle at the same time each time. I would record them immediately after the battle, so that in case your Pokemon faints for whatever reason you won't have to worry about taking EVs out.

But yeah, just write it down on pencil and paper.
