If you want EQ get rid of Pursuit
I have no idea of what Heacross' speed is so I don't know what nature you want. |

if your heracross has guts, i would give it facade instead of pursuit, because, when you have a status condition, facade's power doubles, and heracross's attack rises by 50%, so it can be a OHKO move when used correctly
but i do agree with Shur-tugal, if you want EQ, get rid of pursuit

pursuit is the weakest attack Hera has 40att.
If you want a Dark move go with Night Slash 70att 100acc. And if your hera has the Guts ability do what redlizard suggested and give it facade. If I were you I would go for this: Heracross@Choice Band/Scarf Adamant Megahorn Stone Edge EQ Night Slash-might use facade if ability is guts I would go for that. |

Heracross @ Choice Band/Scarf
252 Atk/252 Spd/6 Hp Guts -Close Combat -Megahorn -Stone Edge -Pursuit Standard. Quite effective. Basic STAB attacks plus a Stone Edge to get rid of pesky Pokemon like Gyarados. Pursuit to take out Psychics and fleeing Pokemon. Doubles as an attack to pick off weakened Pokemon. Problem solved. |

Nobody seems to like this Heracross setup. I do, though it hasn't been of much help lately for me (particularly since I changed its nature from Adamant to Jolly... hm...):
Heracross @ Flame Orb Adamant/Jolly Nature, 252 Att/Spd, 6 HP Close Combat Megahorn Stone Edge Aerial Ace/Facade/Pursuit Flame Orb serves two purposes: gives Heracross that attack boost from Guts (Guts ignores the attack reduction Burn normally gives), and prevents Heracross from being hit with a more crippling status such as sleep or paralysis. Close Combat/Megahorn for STAB, obviously. Stone Edge is to cover its weakness (flying/fire). The last move is up for grabs: Pursuit is nice against Psychics (though that's what Megahorn is for), Ghosts (which CC can't hit) and switches. Aerial Ace is good against other Bugs/Fightings. Facade, with the Burn, gives you a Guts-boosted 140 BP move which is pretty strong despite the inability to hit super effective, but that would give you two moves that can't hit ghosts. I prefer this over either Choice set as it won't limit Heracross to a single move, limiting its sweeping ability. The unreliable accuracy of Megahorn and Stone Edge can also be a minus, especially when it's locked into that move. |

Keep your set as it is. Think of it this way: what will Earthquake hit super effective against that you aren't already hitting super effective against? Only Electric, I think. And most Electrics aren't about to even try taking hits from a Choice Band Heracross.
Rick, some of the reasons that people don't like Flame Orb Heracross are:
Shur'tugal: Although Pursuit normally has a base power of 40, it's extremely useful against stuff like Starmie that tries to switch out, which makes it a base 80 super effective move that hits Starmie even if it tries to switch. And there is a lot to be scared of about Heracross - if [Pokémon] doesn't resist Close Combat and Megahorn or is weak to Night Slash/Pursuit or Stone Edge, you can be sure Heracross will make short work of it. Saying Heracross is one of the best sweeps in the game isn't quite accurate unless it's a Choice Scarfer and your oponent has lots of Pokémon weak to its attacks. Heracross is more a hit/run sort of Pokémon, especially with Choice Band. One of the reasons Flame Orb and Toxic Orb don't suit it as much as one would expect.
