Slowbro

Hi there. I am forced to consider a wall. I've decided to try a bulky water Slowbro. Now I am left with deciding what the moveset and EV spread should be. I'd say the biggest challenge facing me is what offensive option to run with Surf. Thanks.

Usual Slowbro set, assuming you don't have access to a reasonable Hidden Power, is something along the lines of Surf, Ice Beam, Grass Knot, Slack Off. You could also use Calm Mind instead of one of the offensive moves if you feel like trying to generally be a beast. For EVs you should go for at least 200 each in HP and Defence, preferably higher, with the rest in Special Attack (with a 31 IV in HP I believe 216 HP EVs gives optimum recovery from Leftovers).

I think you meant Special Attack there.

But yeah, use lots of HP and Defense and a little bit of Special Attack. Slack Off is a given, as is Surf. Then, for the last moves, pick a combination of Calm Mind, Ice Beam, Grass Knot, and Hidden Power Electric if you can get it.

You'll listen to reason while you're face down in the dirt

What about Thunder Wave? I can see a whole lot of use for that.

Also, what are the prospects of Avalanche over Ice Beam? I mean Slowbro is well....slow.

Avalances power is doubled if the user was hit before the move was used.

You can use Thunder Wave if you want over one of the offensive moves if the rest of your team is pretty slow. Just watch out for Electivire and Jolteon.

Avalanche I wouldn't advise because it's a physical move, and Slowbro's Special Attack is superior to its Attack.

And yes WER, I did mean Special Attack
