Well, the terms such as 'wall' and 'special sweeper' are used by people who play Pokemon to indicate the role the Pokemon has on their team. For example, take Blissy. She has incredibley high special defense and defense, and when put into battle, can take a lot of hits from other Pokemon, blocking the opponent effectively as a 'wall'. Likewise, a special sweeper is a Pokemon that uses a variety of Special moves to take down a variety of opponents, for example, Milotic. A Tank essentially is a Pokemon that can take alot of damage and hold off the opponent, such as Shuckle, since it has a lot of the Defensive stat.

What's the difference between a wall and a tank?
Misty: They're not mature enough to admit it, but they really like each other.
Tracy: You know what? It's exactly the same thing with you and Ash.
Ash & Misty: YOU MUST BE CRAZY!!!!!
Ash: Wow, imagine Brock.....married!
Misty: You and I will be married someday, too.
Ash: Um hmm.............................Huh?!
We may not know Misty's last name right now, but in
the future she could be known as Misty Ketchum!

A Wall is something that only really takes hits. It may take hits well, but it can't do much of anything back, at least not in terms of direct damage. Blissey is probably the best known wall.

A Tank, on the other hand, not only takes hits well, but has the capacity to dish them out, too. Suicune used to be one of the best examples of a tank, although that has changed since ADV.
