My brother actually works at a Gamestop, and I all but 1 employee at that location is very knowledgeable about games, consoles, etc. I guess most other Gamestops are not as fortunate.

The problem at the GameStops in my area is that the guy who owns/manages them is alumni of the business department at a university here, so he tends to hire business majors (read: no videogame experience necessary) from that school and tends to look over a lot of otherwise qualified applicants.

Thank you. A Pawn Shop actually could answer my questions better than the employees at GameStop but they were selling a used one for $300+

That said, in my experience it seems the 60GB consoles are starting to fail, so getting a cheap PS2 might be better than looking for a PS3. Plus PS2 games are, as predicted, starting to appear for download on PSN.

Yep, they were hard to find when I was looking for one two years ago, going for about 300$ then too... A friend of mine got one, and it failed. The blu-ray drive went out so he got it fixed, then two months later the hard disk went out. So really, I would agree with Neo, it's probably not a solid purchase and you're probably better off spending 50-60$ on the PS2.

Wii has the best exclusive titles compared to the other two systems.

took me three tries for the PS2 to work right from GameStop... gave up and bought one from Amazon and it worked fine first try....
Now if only I can get my rare game out of my original system which I still have.

The disk is stuck in the system and you cannot open the tray? I would just pry the tray open if there is no hope for repairing the system. You could also just take it to a local videogame store (not Gamestop) and see if they can get it out or repair the system if they can do it for a reasonable price.

That's always been the case, though. It's Nintendo. Their first-party stuff puts everything to shame in terms of both quality and diversity.

Yup. At this point Wii, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 combined couldn't even match half of the PSP's RPG library, much less the behemoth that is DS. Nearly full lists look something like:

PS3 (By my count, 4 worthwhile games)

Wii (By my count, 3 worthwhile games + 2 maybes)

Xbox 360 (By my count, 4 worthwhile games)

And Western RPGs that are X360 (console) exclusive, that I'm aware of:

I'm naturally more biased towards X360 considering I've had about four and a half years with it compared to six months with the PS3.
