[link=#Start]Getting Started[/link]
[anchor=Start][u]Getting Started[/u][/anchor] Welcome to the Suggestions forum! This is where you can tell us what forums you would like to see here at GameWinners.com. Please look over the following information before posting a suggestion. How does this whole 'suggestion' thing work? Here's how it works: Suggestions are made in one of the suggestion topics. The forum mod(s) (currently Neo Matrix) will read over the suggestions and let you know what suggestions will or will not work, and in most cases, the reason(s) why. Periodically, each successful suggestion will be sent to the admin(s) (currently Ben) and added to the first post in each topic so you know they're in review. When there's a reply from the administration, the answers will be published in that first post until the next batch of suggestions is sent. Game forums tend to be created straight away if it passes review, the rest may take some time to implement. If a suggestion is being made and commented on enough times, it will be added to the Feedback Master Thread. In essence it is a Frequently Answered Suggestions list. How do I suggest a forum? Suggestions and ideas for the Experimental forums should be made in the SUGGESTIONS forum. There is a topic for each of the main sections a suggestion could go under. Find the appropriate one and post your suggestion. Do I get to become a moderator if my idea is made into a forum? When the forum is made the current mods get first refusal. However, should you prove to be the person for the spot, someone might recommend you anyway. Be warned though, your behaviour across all forums can be taken into account. Please see the Deleted Forums and Failed Experimentals posts before making a suggestion. These forums have been deleted for inactivity in the past, or tried in experimental but did not have enough interest. Please do not suggest them again unless you have a strong reasoning behind the suggestion (eg: A new game has come out). These are older suggestions from when the Experimentals first started. Please refer to the Feedback Master Thread for details.

I can't help it, when I find one song or noise that fits the rest have to comply. What I'm looking for are ideas for sound sets for cellphones that are based on particular games. For example the one I'm trying to create is a Zelda theme, but can't decide whether to just concentrate on Ocarina of Time or the whole series. The spots to fill it seems are...

Dynasty Warriors Community Thread Attempt
![]()
Overview Dynasty Warriors is a series of tactical action video games created by Omega Force and Koei. The award-winning series is a spin-off of Koei's turn-based strategy Romance of the Three Kingdoms series, based loosely around the Chinese classical novel of the same name. The novel was written by Luo Guanzhong in the 14th century and is a historical novel set amidst the turbulent years near the end of the Han Dynasty and the Three Kingdoms era of Chinese history, starting in 169 and ending with the reunification of the land in 280. The story (part historical, part legend, and part myth) chronicles the lives of feudal lords and their retainers, who tried to replace the dwindling Han Dynasty or restore it. While the novel actually follows literally hundreds of characters, the focus is mainly on the three power blocs that emerged from the remnants of the Han Dynasty, and would eventually form the three states of Wei, Shu, and Wu. The novel deals with the plots, personal and army battles, intrigues, and struggles of these states to achieve dominance for almost 100 years. News Releases Series Terminology Frequently Asked Questions Q: Why are the numbers different with the Japanese games? Back when the series first started, it was a 1-on-1 fighting game called Sangokumusou (literal translation: "Unrivaled in the Three Kingdoms"), or Dynasty Warriors in the rest of the world. However, when the game moved to the hack-and-slash game we all know now, the name was changed to Shin Sangokumusou (literal translation: "True - Unrivaled in the Three Kingdoms") in Japan, but the rest of the world called the game Dynasty Warriors 2. Since then the Rest of the World naming has been 1 ahead of the Japanese name. Change Log Created and maintained by: You

Overview Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon is an American series of military tactical shooter video games created by Red Storm Entertainment, the game development studio founded in part by American author Tom Clancy. Ghost Recon has also been novelized by Grant Blackwood under the pseudonym David Michaels. In the series, the player is in charge of a fictional, newly-conceived squad of United States Army Special Forces operators from Company D, 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (5th SFG) stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Except for the "1st Battalion, 5th SFG" designation, this unit is entirely fictional, as Special Forces Battalions currently only support three Companies (A, B and C). They are sometimes referred to as "the Ghosts". Their role is not unlike other real world special operations forces, in that their operations are kept highly classified. News Releases Series Terminology Frequently Asked Questions Q: Are all the Tom Clancy games set in the same world? The main character from Ghost Recon 2 and Advanced Warfighter, Captain Scott Mitchell, appears in missions in H.A.W.X and leads the United States' Joint Strike Force in EndWar. Members of Rainbow are also part of the European Federation Enforcer Corps in EndWar as well, so all we need is Sam Fisher or someone else from Splinter Cell to turn up somewhere in another game to be able to say "yes". However, as it stands that's quite a world that's been built up over the years. Change Log Created and maintained by: You

Going through the Olympics...
I like the Olympics. I watch as much as I can every 4 years time zone permitting, and I've managed to get the 15 days off work this year so I can pick up as much action as possible (I might even look into going to Hyde Park to watch some of it on the big screens if they're actually doing it). Thing is though, the games are almost always lacking. Sure, they're great to play for a little while, but ultimately they're the original "mini-game collection" franchise albeit a collection that comes out every 4 years with largely the same basic controls for almost all the events with little tweaks for specific sports.
London 2012 came out recently, and every time an Olympic game comes out I hear people saying they would like to see more events in the game, or better controls, at least something to make the game last longer. Obviously there are going to be some events that shouldn't be in these games, purely because either the event is too long on its own (who would want to do a virtual 20km walk or marathon?) or there is already a game that would eclipse any Olympic-specific game and the better option would be to simply make an Olympic expansion of the original game. Question is though, how would you improve on the current Olympic Games... game franchise so far? Here's a list of the sports they have in the Olympics. Chances are there's already a full game out there with the best controls already for a few of them (eg: FIFA/PES for Football or Fight Night for Boxing) so feel free to mention them. If there's a game already, no point putting a mini-game of it in the Olympic game. As Olympic fever takes over the summer I'm planning on focusing on each sport and breaking it down into their respective events and seeing which could potentially be used in an Olympic game, whether it has in the past and maybe even why they haven't appeared yet, and more importantly, whether they could be improved upon.

I suppose to do this you have to look at how the sport works in the Olympics and adapt it to game format. I think I better use Olympiad for the real thing and Olympic game for the game from now on for ease of understanding.
History in the games: The event has been in every game adaptation since Barcelona except for the Sydney game, I suppose because it's difficult to make training routines for that event. Olympiad format: For the individual event you have a 64-person tournament (men's and women's) and the 12 teams for the team tournament (again, men's and women's). First everyone fires 72 arrows and the aggregate score sorts out the seedings for both the individual bracket and which 12 teams qualify for the team bracket. From there it's a knockout tournament to see who wins the medals, best of 5 sets, 3 arrows per set. 2 points for winning a set, 1 each for tying. Single arrow shoot-off for 5-5 ties. The team format is simpler, each member shoots 8 arrows each and the most points wins. Ties are decided with a 3 arrow shoot-off (I assume one from each team member). Olympic game format: Personally, I don't remember seeing an Olympic game do the the qualification or the knockout stages of the event, more like 3-6 ends of 3 arrows in one league. Then again, I suppose I can't imagine people wanting to fire 72 arrows, then go through 6 rounds of knockout archery just for the one medal when other events can be done in mere minutes. I can't think of a way to simplify the format to a point where it would take less than 10 minutes to complete the event, but keeping true to the actual Olympiad format. I suppose you have your Arcade mode and Realistic split there though. Controls and Gameplay: They've stayed pretty consistent through the years, a button (or analogue stick now) to pull back, aim, release to shoot. Sounds pretty simple but the obstacle you have is the wind which constantly changes as you aim. You could have one arrow going with a 4mph wind followed by an 8mph crosswind. Eventually you'd learn how to adjust perfectly and get 10s every time, but that just gives the event a little bit of a learning curve that's soon dealt with, and the shot clock makes very little difference to how you shoot. Maybe bringing in ideas from sniping such as breath control would add some tension. I don't know how much tension you need to pull the string back, but it must be difficult holding it for too long, extra vibration in the controller when your arm's getting tired maybe? I know I could feel mine feeling the strain a little when playing Mario & Sonic and after playing the Summer Stars demo I think I've seen a possible way by using a Concentration meter, hold down a button to zoom in slightly and slow down the aiming. Difference is, the amount of time you can use it is finite for the whole round rather than just that one shot. One button for breath, another for concentration, all while you take your shot with the analogue sticks. You don't necessarily have to pull all the way back either, rather hold it in a zone to get 100% accuracy. Gender issues: One complaint you get a lot is that you can't have a men's and women's version for the same event. I haven't seen much archery, but I think in this case in the game you could combine the two considering the controls and accuracy should be equal enough. Teams could be mixed or even have a battle of the sexes for the gold. If there are any differences between them I'll come back to this during the Games. How would you change this event for the better?
