Correct! Outside the barn! You push the button and out they come! The one inside the barn pulls them all back inside.

Of course, ToT made it best by putting a bell outside that you ring to let them out, ring to let them in, and they'll go inside automatically before the next day starts, eliminating the rain problem. I've heard it has a glitch where the animals won't always all go out, but I've never seen it.
