And in the scenario you mentioned everything would be effective. Half the time in that scenario team damage becomes an effective tool for the infected.

The learn to aim comment was fairly funny (Not to be taken in an a-hole tone).

I'm sorry but subtitles don't make anyone that much better. It's the loose equivalent of saying soldiers who use the in game auto-reload feature are cheap. Subtitles don't help with aim and don't help with all the timing aspects of survivor side and most importantly they do not tell you where they are coming from. All that comes with experience. No one is going to go from average to amazing because they found how to turn on subtitles.

You are right that I'm probably overestimating the average person. That doesn't change the fact that I think the Charger is worthless right now.

Nah, I'm still going with the "Giant neon text-prompts telling you when to expect infected is pretty frigging cheap" angle.

Hmm. I use subtitles but I don't recall ever seeing anything tell me when to expect infected. Even if it did, it's the same advantage your ears give you, I don't see what the big cheaty deal would be.
I started using them when I had the language set to German, to help me understand. But even in English I have a hard time understanding what they're saying. I'm sure I'm not the only one who plays with a lot of other things going on, ie Music or a VoiP.

Ed. Actually upon further inspection there are two options for captioning, Subtitles Only and Full Captioning. I take it the full captioning is what tells you about infected because I use Subtitles Only.

Yes, there are two settings. One only subtitles the chit-chat and the other gives the hints as well.

Demo is downloading right now for me.

All I can say right now is that all the infected (especially the Smoker) look a lot uglier.

And the charger; bring it on.

I figure I should mention this before Valve patches it out, there's a shortcut in the rush to the button crescendo event that allows you to skip almost all of it. Gonna steal a screenshot of the place to do it from Something Awful, since I'm way too lazy to go make a screenshot of it myself.

So pretty simple, just hop to the table, then up top and over. Might want to hold off on taking the adrenaline till your close to the table, it seemed to help when I was doing it.

Yeah, I've been doing that every time since I read about it. It's actually pretty amusing seeing the rest of my team running along the outside fence, when I've already turned off the alarm and am covering them from the top of the scaffolding.

I'm sure Valve will have it fixed by the actual release, but it's fun to do for now.

Dont see why you would want to skip half the demo but whatever.
There are 2 other glitches that are pretty interesting, both in the first section of the demo. At the Truck, if you run along the 'top' of it, and jump from the wheel to the lamp on the wall, you can runa ccross some invisible ledge to get on the balcony. From there if you jump onto the blue(?) roof thing and go in idle, you can get ontop of the building. Badly explained.

Later on next to the safe room is a little alley with some bins. if you jump on the bins and onto the white thing on the wall, you can get on these pipes and get on the roof. this allows you to run and jump to the next roof which will leave you dangling from it, so you need someone to pick you up. You can escape the map if you run accross the barrier.

Overall though I enjoyed what I have played. The knife/machete is awesome.

It's not the first shortcut that Valve has allowed. Crash Course has one similar jumping.

Because it's not even close to being half the demo, by a longshot.

Well, the Charger brought it. Those damn things messed me up every friken' time... They come at you really fast, I'd have my face being pounded into the ground before I even know what hit me the first couple times I encountered one.

I really dig that new sniper too. That, and the new assault rifle. But what's that bottle of puke stuff do?

The boomer bile spawns a horde that attacks anything that was hit by the bile.

It's a bottle of boomer bile. Does the same thing. You are vicariously a boomer by throwing it. Throw wisely.

Honestly the best use I've found for the boomer bile so far is to save it till you're almost to the safehouse and then toss it at whoever is farthest back.

But maybe that's just because I'm an ass.
