Deoxys breeding

I finally got a Deoxys from my Emerald Game. I Imported onto my Platinum game and put itin the Daycare with Ditto in Soleceon town. But for some reason The Daycare man says that "They prefer to play with other Pokemon." Which means that they won't breed. I tried both Speed and Normal forms to no avail. I had heard that if you put those 2 pokemon in the daycare That you will recieve a random pokemon egg. Is this true? If so, what am I doing wrong? Also I should mention that I beleive that the breeding system is glitched for Platinum, because I put a Porygon2 and a Porygonz in the daycare and got the same message.

porygon 2 cant breed with porygon z they can only breed with ditto, and deoxys cant breed at all.

There are certain Pokémon which can't breed, even with Ditto.

As general breeding rules:

Female Pokémon can't breed with each other (obviously).
Male Pokémon can't breed with each other (also obviously).
Genderless Pokémon can ONLY breed with Ditto.
All legendary Pokémon are unable to breed with anything (Manaphy is an exception to this rule I believe).
For everything else it depends on the egg group.

There are a few other rules iirc, but those are the most major things to remember. In the case of Deoxys, it's legendary, so it can't breed at all. In the case of Porygon2 and Porygon-Z, both are genderless, so they can only breed with Ditto.

Also keep in mind that Nidoran♀ somehow becomes sterile when she evolves (despite Nidoqueen's "chest"), and Volbeat and Illumise are considered the male and female forms of the same species when they breed. I'm not sure if the same is true for Tauros and Miltank (although logically it should be that way). Even though Unown is not technically a legendary Pokémon, it also can't breed. By the way, just to be clear, you can only get a Ditto egg by breeding two Ditto.
