View Full Version : How do a trade from a game boy advance to a ds???

I want to figure out what i need to get some of my master balls from my pokemon ruby to my pokemon diamond. I've heard of something called migrating, how do you migrate??

You need to beat the elite four, then at the zoo island type-thing, you can select which pokemon to migrate into Diamond/Pearl/Plat. Sorry about the bad term. I haven't played the game in a while.

Put your D/P/Pt in the DS card slot, and your Ru/Sa/Em/FR/LG in the GBA cartridge slot. Turn on your DS and start D/P/Pt. At the main menu scroll down and choose Migrate from Ru/Sa/Em/FR/LG. Choose your six Pokemon to migrate. Start the game. From Sandgem Town (where Rowan's Lab is) head south onto Route 219, and then Surf east onto Route 220. Work your way east through the maze-forest-thing and enter the building--Pal Park. Inside, talk to the man behind the desk to head into an area where you can catch your six Pokemon. And... Bingo! You have officially migrated your Pokemon.

Take note of the following four things:
1) You must have beaten the Elite Four and Champion AND have acquired the National Dex to access Pal Park.
2) You must migrate six Pokemon at a time.
3) None of the migrating Pokemon may know HM moves.
4) Once Pokemon are migrated to D/P/Pt you can NEVER return them to their GBA games.

To transfer those Master Balls, just catch a bunch of weaklings and migrate them with the Master Balls equiped to them.

one thing I've always had a problem with though, is when I try to transfer from FireRed to Platinum it always erases my FireRed file...keeps saying that there's no saved game on the GBA cartridge. Been through 2 copies now.

anyone else have this prob, or is it just me?

Malfunction caused by the usage of cheat codes or maybe a fake FR/Platinum? I've never had any trouble migrating, but then again, I don't have Platinum, only Pearl (and every single GBA Pokémon game except Rangers, Trozei and MDs).
