Just looking for some thoughts on this. As we know finishing a campaign on expert by yourself with the three AI characters is nigh on impossible because they are a little silly. But what do people think as to the possibility of doing it with two humans and two AI? I only ask because I have a friend coming over at the weekend and a bit of L4D might be on the cards split screen, and was wondering whether expert would be worth a punt.

Well I certainly don't see any reason why you couldn't at least try it. Even if you fail horribly, you're not going to suffer any loss besides your time.
AI bots do have a great advantage over human players in that they don't seem phased by foliage, and also have fairly immediate reactions when it comes to helping other players up. That isn't to say bots don't do dumb things like stand right next to you dancing a merry jig while you're smoked, but they'll at least keep you company while you're dying.
I'd think two bots might be a little tricky, but it could be doable depending on the skill of the human players. You just need to make sure that primarily you are watching out for the other human player, and keeping an eye on the bots as well.

I'd say it's very much doable. 1/3 on expert you can to the finale, but the two tanks will easily tore the bots apart before you. With 2/2 it should be easier. Especially if you use the bots as tank bait while you unload your shotgun at them.

I think it's possible. I can get to the finale with 3 bots, so it should be easy to do with 2. When tanks come, just use the bots as bait. At the finale, feel free to leave them behind.
