Can't get to Pastoria

I've beaten the gym in Veilstone and its time to head to Pastoria, but I can't get through. The entrance to route 212 is blocked by a news crew that keeps telling me the ruins of Solacetown are interesting - which to my knowledge I've fully explored. Am I overlooking something really obvious?

To get to pastoria first you have to go to Solaceon town then from there go up untill u find a group of psyduck blocking the path, then go right.
Eventually u will get to Veilstone City, after u've beaten the gym and done some things with galactic you go to pastoria via route 214 going past valor lakefront.

oops. u've already beaten veilstone gym, i got confused cuz u said u were trying to go through route 212 so i thought u were at hearthome.

You need to help Rowan's assistant get back her Pokédex from Team Galactic in the north of the town, and get HM Fly while you're at it. If you've done this already, you need to approach Pastoria from route 214/213.

Thanks guys, I found out I was overlooking the really obvious. I had tried to go right towards another town when all I needed to do was go through the hotel itself from the 214/213 side. :)
