Sorry... I was living under a rock. I still think it's 1999.

I guess nobody likes them anymore. I just listen to their first 3 albums.

Did anyone like them?

I did and still do. Not the most awesome band ever but a definite guilty pleasure of mine and the only band I own every album for. Recently got back into them after hearing a Timbaland remix of Take A Look Around.

They made me very angry with their cover of Behind Blue Eyes.

Not to mention their lead singer is an idiot. I think it was at both a recent Woodstock event (the really f*cked up one) and the Australian Big Day Out concert where he decided to be a moron and encourage the crowd to screw around with the event staff and police, and at the Big Day Out, this resulted in the death of some girl there, not to mention numerous rapes and assaults at Woodstock.

I think they would have a good sound if they weren't cheesy. I think some of Fred's lyrics are just cheesy.

They're so bad

Lol. They're funny. Whenever I'm feeling down, I just pop in a Limp Bizkit CD and laugh my a$$ off. I don't take them seriously, I don't think they ever wanted to be taken seriously either. Their music is hilarious though, especially Chocolate Starfish.

Their guitarist (Wes Borland, is it?) is, in my opinion, not a bad guitarist. Too bad he never got to do too much.

Sweet Limp Bizkit World Tour! Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park confirmed.... tempted, so tempted!!! Plus a New album. This is pretty sweet, been wanting to see them for years.

Oh and Bird Flu you should check out Black Light Burns if you like Wes.

They're coming out with new albums? Awesome. By the way, did you like "the unquestionable truth"? It was the last album they did with Wes Borland (which you probably already knew).

I think the music was good, and Freds singing was okay. Kinda sounded like Rage Against the Machine though. Still a decent album!

The Unquestionable Truth wasn't bad, I thought it was better than Results May Vary though it was a bit short. I haven't listened to it in a while (only have Significant Other & Starfish on my MP3) so may break it out tonight.

Fred's not got a bad voice it's not awesome but does the job.

Though this new album will be the orginal line up so I'm interested to see what Lethal will be doing as I thought he was a pretty good DJ.

The Unquestionable Truth was the only Limp Bizkit album I actually got into. I thought it was pretty good.

I was never a big fan of theirs, I did like a couple of their more popular songs back in the day.

However, I revisited them a few years back, and I have come to the conclusion that Limp Bizkit, the band, is not bad. In fact, their musicians are really pretty talented.

Wes Borland may not be John Petrucci or Yngwie Malmsteen, but he writes some guitar riffs that are cool, if not interesting. Sam Rivers is all over the neck on his 5-string bass, something most mainstream rap-metal/hard rock bass players never do, and John Otto has some pretty good beats, and was also a jazz session drummer if I remember correctly. I don't have any real opinion of DJ Lethal, but whatever.

However, Fred Durst is undeniably one of the biggest douchebag/assbag/idiot frontmen in the history of rock music. His voice is irritating as sh*t, and his lyrics are awful.

Limp Bizkit would have been a respectable band without Fred Durst in it. With him, they get overlooked.

So really, if you can mute Durst or listen past him, you can find some halfway decent music and musicianship, especially in Rivers' playing.

I used to listen to Limp Bizkit all the time, but I haven't for awhile.

I went to see Black Light Burns last week @ The Norva and they were really good.

I just never took Durst seriously. Every time I saw him, I just remembered the M.O.M. video for "Get Naked", and how Durst is the only one fully clothed in the video.

I haven't heard much of Limp Bizkit's music, but I personally think Durst fits the music perfectly. He may be an annoying person, but I listen to it for the music, not their backstories. Plus, Rollin' is one of the best driving songs I've ever heard.

I got real tired of "Rollin'" once the WWF/E appropriated it for the Undertaker's theme song.

Also, it's very hard to take a song seriously when the lyrics begin thusly:

"Now I know ya'll be lovin' this sh*t right here / L - I - M - P Bizkit is right here"

He rhymed "here" with "here". Facepalm time begins.

But I did like "My Way" a lot, another song the WWF used for their own purposes, that one was stupid catchy, and quite frankly, the lyrics were not nearly as bad as Rollin'.

But my all-time favorite Bizkit song to this point was "Boiler". It's the one time Durst doesn't sound like a moron for the entire song, and the bass work is wonderful. It was one song that did not get an assload of airplay on the radio, and thus I feel was probably underappreciated by most fans.

Worst LB song that got a lot of exposure in my opinion: Break Stuff. Ugh. Just. No.

Boiler was good. But I like "It'll be okay" better. They're both similar. And ironically the track is right after the other.

Hold on with Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots was really good too.

I like the song "Eat You Alive." If they've made anything else like that, someone should direct me toward it. It's the only song I've heard where Fred doesn't sound like a whiny bitch.

I do not watch WWF/E, so I did not know that.

Hey, The Fray rhymed 'right' with 'right' or something like that. There are also very few bands whose lyrics I pay a lot of attention to (most of the time good lyrics are pretty much a bonus) and LB are not one of them.

Worst LB song that got a lot of exposure in my opinion: Break Stuff. Ugh. Just. No.

That can be a rather annoying song.

I'd say the best lyrical rap song Fred Durst had was with Method Man in "n 2 gether".

Then again, Method Man might have ghostwritten for him. But who knows. Nonetheless it's still decent.

Good formula but like said, lyrics like "hand up now hands down [back up back] whatcha gonna do now?!" make it tough to listen to

Rollin' (Urban Assault Vehicle) was a pretty sweet song that most people overlook. Also Hot Dog is my favourite track to do for Karaoke.

Head for the Barricade, 9 Teen 90 Nine & Trust are also songs which are pretty good but seem to be overlooked IMO.

Fingers crossed that Bizkit is not just playin Download, really want them to play a gig in London cause otherwise I'll miss them and I'll be pretty damn annoyed.

I have New Old Songs. If you're a Limp Bizkit fan, then I would say get it. Its got a lot of techno/rap and interesting remixes on it. You can get it off Amazon REALLY cheap. Its worth it.

The counterfeit remix is really good. They even had a video for it back in the day. Faith remix is good, Everlast is on it. Crushed remix is very good too.

I never heard of Significant demos in hell. Do you mean The Collected? That's a new CD with handpicked songs from LimBizkit fans. Stuff from 3 dollar bill all the way up to the unquestionable truth.

Now theres a song I need to get! The Rollin Urban Assault Vehicle remix with Methodman and DMX, pure fire that was. Limp will always have a place in my heart, 3 Dollar Bill Yall was one of the first 5 cds I ever owned when I was 11. Ahh gotta thank the 'rents for never screening my cds. Faith was, and still is the best version I've ever heard. I stopped listening after Chocolate Starfish though so I'm out of the loop on their newer releases.

Rollin' is such a great car song. I always drive down the street while blasting it and piss so many people off. I love it.

I think it's My Generation, not sure, but it says, "John Otto, take 'em to the Mathews Bridge" and there's a sweet drum part there. Always loved that.

Were these guys ever meant to be taken seriously?

I doubt it. I think Fred Durst realizes nobody but 13 year old children without a father really feel anything from his lyrics.

I suppose what's sorta sad is the band themselves possess talent. Just not their vocalist. :(

I never took the band seriously which is where I get my enjoyment from them, and if you listen to the lyrics and watch the music videos you can see they don't take themselves that seriously either. As for Dursts vocals, I've heard worse. Actually I've heard a lot worse vocals than Durst.

If you're talking purely about quality of the vocalizations, I suppose you could do worse.

Lyrically, however, I don't think there are many people who rival Durst's awfulness.

They are so patently bad, and he is/was so patently serious about singing them that the only proper responses to hearing them is laughter or derisive snorting.

And the thing is, it's not just his awful sounding voice nor the lyrics he spews at you, but it's his whole attitude. He thinks he's such the sh*t that nobody can touch him, but in reality, he's really just full of sh*t. Whatever.

I actually am looking forward to hearing the new Bizkit material for two things:

1) To listen to the damn musicians and see how, if any, their style has evolved.

2) To laugh if Durst is still this caricature of himself about 10 years after Bizkit first got famous.

I don't really see myself actually buying anything they put out, but I make no promises.
