Tonight: Franz Ferdinand

So who else has this album? I've been a huge FF fan ever since I picked up their first album at the local store. Liked it so much, I went ahead and bought You Could Have It So Much Better later that same day. Now, Tonight: Franz Ferdinand comes out, and it's awesome, in my opinion.

Album starts off great with Ulysses, which is awesome cause it's just them messing around. Keeps going strong, eventually reaches Bite Hard, which is my favorite track on the album. Love the sound.

Next track, What She Came For, is great cause the chorus is "Whoa oh! Look out! You're what she came for! You're what she came for! No question, no doubt!"

Then, a few tracks later, the album peaks with Lucid Dreams. This song was released on Madden 09, but holy hell, is it different on the album. It feels like an acid trip. Eight minutes of wtfawesome.

Then the album slows down with Dream Again and Katherine Kiss Me. Not slows down in a bad way, you just have to go down after a track like Lucid Dreams.

EDIT: May as well toss in an actual rating. 8/10. Good, but not Franz Ferdinand good.

[The Eye in the Sky!]

I've heard mixed reviews about it. Some people say "awesome they went in a slightly new direction!" while others are saying "they don't know who they are anymore!"

I'm hesitant and saved $5 on iTunes to get a feel for it. I have had "Ulysses" since it was first available and its pretty good but I'd rather grab a handfull before diving right in. "Lucid Dreams" looks to be one and then maybe a couple you mentioned. If I like what I hear I can always grab the rest at a discounted rate.

I'm really hoping I like this again. You Could Have it So Much Better was a letdown for me since I loved their debut more than most albums I have. I mean, its good, but not what I really hoped it would be. Here's hoping this one is more my style.

Edit: Well, "Lucid Dreams" is nuts. I love the swirling ending to it. I picked up "Bite Hard" and it didn't do the same but its groovy. I'll see about others tomorrow.
