Fair warning, before you continue reading. If you're the type of player that likes to discover tips, this thread may not be for you. So read at your own risk.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

Here are some tips I've discovered while playing through the game. (Jamie, feel free to edit this post with your own tips as well, or just respond, whichever.)

Tip #1: I find this the most important. Play through the single player on regular, just the easy levels! Complete the special level, and you earn a special reward many people may not know about! You get speed! Holding down circle will allow you to run. And while it's not blazing speed, you do get a boost, and it helps a lot to pick up those coins or gems about to disappear!

Tip #2: Another thing never mentioned in the game, I looked this up. (And so far I'm only able to get this to work in trophy levels.) If you have at least 5 gems, you can press Square to place a bomb. (Square again will detonate.) It will cost you 5 gems (and will, of course, prevent you from getting certain trophies.) But it can be EXTREMELY powerful. If you use it well, it can save you a lot of trouble.

Tip #3: Trophy level "Scrooged". 10% coin boost anyone? 15%? With 10%, you can get it, but it'll be rough and you'll have to sell your towers quickly at the end. With 15%, however, you can pretty much cruise there. I wouldn't advise you to go nuts building towers, I stuck to about 6 or 7 and was able to do it with fairly little problems.

Tip #4: Trophy level "Picky Eater". While no replacement for the fire tower, the Tesla tower can be very handy in this level, not to mention the laser tower, but that's another tip. The tesla tower, placed carefully (and a lot of them, especially whilst max upgraded) actually makes this level fairly easy. The main key to this level is how you place your towers. It'll help a lot if you know where the action is coming from.

Tip #5: Trophy level "Gem Hoarder". This level seems impossible at first, until you realize one thing then it all becomes clear. Once a tower has a purple flag, if you sell it, you get 1 gem. A black flag will get you two gems. It'll still take you a few tries to beat this one (and maybe a little luck getting enough gems from the creeps), but with the tower trick, should be no problem0.

I think that's all I got for now. Jamie has completed different levels, so hopefully he'll add in some of his own soon!

Green Flag

Keep L1 held down at all times do that you can see the status of your towers. If any gets above half way to upgraded, sell it. This is not a hard level, and you shouldn't have a problem with building enough towers. So be vigilant. The biggest danger comes from cannon towers, which can upgrade with two shots if they hit the smaller creatures in groups. Be prepared to sell cannon towers mid wave if that happens. It's also worth building towers towards the start of the level so that if you get desperate due to selling them you can build more at the end before the monsters eat anyone.

Scrooged

I did this on my first try. Just get the interest upgrades as a priority. Even if it looks like you're not going to get enough coins, the interest can gather very quickly in the last few waves.

I'll write some more general tips later, and might well edit them all into the first post for ease of reference.

Trophy level "Wishing Well". One of the Encore levels, drop 100 coins into the water. It's really not very hard at all. I have two tips, one, you probably won't beat it on your first run through, so pay attention where the creeps come from so you know how to build later.

Two: since they don't specify where the coins have to come from, don't be afraid keep building and selling towers right on the edge of the water to dump coins into the little lake there. You'll be able to get it easy.

Oh and the boss on the level is the medium level difficulty boss, but he's really low powered. One mine should knock him almost all the way down, and whatever cannon towers you have should do the rest.

I've done the majority of the challenges now, so intend to add a lot more substance to this thread soon.

Zero Karat is the most annoying level ever. I can do it pretty much with ease with the exception of two levels. The last airborne level (currently tried 9 anti-air towers upgraded to yellow), it stopped them, but not with enough of my flock remaining.

And the boss. The reason I have to neglect the anti-air guns is so I can build as many cannons as possible, upgraded as high as they can. I tried 9 or so upgraded to red, then pretty much every other tree having a cannon, with as many as possible upgraded to yellow. The boss got to my flock with the smallest little sliver of life remaining, couple more hits would've done him in. But I only had 3 flockies left and couldn't hold him off long enough.

HATE. HATE. HATE.

I did that on my first try. I had a block of nine anti ait towers in that tree block half way through so they can hit both sides, and nearly all of my cannons at the start (with a couple at the end), and arrows in between. Didn't really come close to losing all of the villagers. When I noticed the boss was hard level I just sold all my non cannon towers and built as many cannon towers as possible. Killed him with the second tower from the end. So I got a bit lucky but it wasn't that bad. Just concentrate on upgrading those first cannon towers.
