Well, I'm in need of a couple of new songs, so suggest me some, would you? Or, you could just list some good ones. The type of "classic" I'm talking about would be The Beatles, Beach Boys, Three Dog Night, etc...

If you're just looking for any classic rock, why not look at some CD compilations? You can see track lists on Amazon. Your request isn't specific enough; classic rock is about 30 years worth of music.

I suppose the essential classic rock bands would probably be Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, The Who and The Rolling Stones, so checking out some of the more famous works would be useful.

The_virus hit it on the head. Classic Rock is probably one of the most broad genre's out there.

Though to add to the four that Dan suggested, I'll add The Yardbirds. The Yardbirds were the starting point for three of the most influential guitarists of all time, so it could give you some idea of their musical prowess before they became very well known.

It should be worth noting that the guitarists were Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), Eric Clapton (Cream, John Mayall & The Blues Breakers etc) and Jeff Beck (various bands & solo).

King Crimson, The Replacements, & Brian Eno. These bands have nothing to do with each other and yet they can all be congregated because of the broad terminology of the phrase "classic rock".

I wouldn't list King Crimson as a classic rock band. The term, while more of a blanket or umbrella term, included the more mainstream blues type bands. KC on the other hand, was neither mainstream, or to an extent, blues. They'd come under the title 'Bands which everyone should listen to but are still ignored'. That or prog.

Fair Enough.
