Okay, I've been listening to the deth album for a couple months and I fkn love it.
My question and statement are these:
I love the instrumentation and absolute feeling of heaviness . I love it a lot. But the vocals just annoy the hell out of me half the time. I've listened to a few metal bands but again the vocals annoy me.(not to say it's bad!)
So is there any bands or groups or anything out there that is the straight up heavy/black/death/ metal (whatever dethklok could be classified) that is pure instrumentation...with out vocals and lyrics? I would be so into that.
Help an audiophile out.

There are plenty of instrumental metal bands, but hardly any Death Metal ones. Check these out:
Behold The Arctopus
Electro Quaterstaff
Orthrelm
Sleep Terror
Or you could just man-up and learn to appreciate the vocals.
Edit: Forgot about The ****ing Champs (rhymes with clucking).

If he can't appreciate the lyrics with months of constant listening, there is no way he's going to be able to man-up. I remember when I first got into the genre, I hated the vocals, but it didn't take long for me to quite literally fall in love with the gutteral style and then start to practice the style.
Only band I've listened to that is similar, not really brutal or anything, but pretty interesting and epic instrumental is Therion.

There is a difference between liking and appreciating. And you can do one w/o doing the other. Ex. Slayer is always mentioned about being a big contributor to metal. I appreciate what they have done, but that doesn't mean I like their music.
To the OP: You can always search youtube or google or whatever for 'Dethklok instrumental' maybe you'll get something.

Yeah but I like dethklok for what they are but I want MOAR! you know. Seriously though the vocals make me feel like I'm going to puke, not because it's bad or anything I hve a terrible gag reflex and some of the sounds that can come out of these people make my throat want to close. Don't get wrong though, the screamers and what not have all the respect in the world from me I couldn't do what they do I just like to hear the lyrics.

I for one thought they were some of the best Death Metal vocals I've ever heard. And I got the Dethalbum shortly after it came out and still can't stop listening to it. I didn't think it was possible for them to make Thunderhorse any heavier than it was in the show, but that's what you get when you hire GENE F*CKING HOGLAN to do the drum tracks.

Try Between the Buried and Me. The album is Colors.
It's amazing metal.. it has vocals(which suck), but they are far apart. The music is insanely sick though, so you might like it.

Ok, I need to settle an argument with a friend of mine.
He thinks Underoath are Death metal because they scream. I told him he's retarded if he thinks that any screaming band is Death Metal, which he does. He won't get the crazy notion that Underoath are Death metal out of his skull.

I'm not a fan of that kind of "singing" but I love it in dethklok.
Have you ever listened to the lyrics? Best part of any song.

That's what I told him, but he refuses to listen. It's not even worth talking about, to be honest. Underoath are about as Death Metal as the last dump I did.

No No No. I love dethkloks vocals, it's the high pitched screaming or the guttural low end growls I can't get into. By the way, who ever suggested Sleep Terror, make your presence so I can give you rep. And Electro Quarter Staff is somewhere in between hard win and epic fail...still not sure.
Oh and underoath is considered emotive hardcore.Or crap. you know. which ever.

*aigh* I believe their first two albums were Death Metal, then changed over to a sort of Screamo sound and now it's more of a Hardcore sound than anything regardless their new album is relentless and f*cking brutal.
Anyways to get back on topic, has anyone suggested Opeth to this guy? Sometimes in there music there's not a lot of vocals and more instrumental parts. I don't know if they'd fit what he's looking for though. Akerfeldt has IMO the coolest growl/scream I've ever heard.

I recommend Opeth not just to him, but anyone.

Thirding Opeth. Even if you don't like the screaming (which is awesome, by the way), plenty of their songs don't have it, like Reverie/Harlequin Forest, Benighted or Isolation Years.

What? lol that definitely has screaming in it just comes later in the song kind of like The Drapery Falls how he sings regular at first then it's like WHAM amazing growl/scream!

They are just generic metalcore. Also, don't diss emo. You have no clue what emo is if you actually are willing to say it is crap.

No I'm just saying Underoath is crap. I'm a huge fan of Sunny Day Real Estate so I won't bash emo. Real emo I mean, not fall Out Boy, Academy is, Boys like Girls or any of that.
Noise didn't even post here yet he gives me bad rep...why? Seriously, I don't even think that is a fraction of fair. If he doesn't agree with my post then by all means he can say so but seriously I was just looking for some new music.

Answer the question, I asked you. Yes, I have.Fine, i'll humour you.
I have heard the first two Underoath records, which were without doubt Botch/Cave In-wannabes playing passable chugga hardcore. Worlds, nay, universes away from any semblance of Death Metal.
So kiddo, since I'm a "ignorant twat" according to you, please, give me some more examples of all this Death Metal you listen to.
Edit: Hahaha wait, is this the Death Metal you're referring to?
14 1 Play Madonna
9 2 Play Coldplay
11 3 Play Nelly Furtado
3 4 Play Nine Inch Nails
5 Play Blackfield
6 Play Bob Dylan
7 The Seatbelts
8 Play Edguy
9 Play Sara Bareilles
10 Play Gwen Stefani
TOTALLY BR00TAL MAN!
Edit2: Bonus points if you copy/paste the death metal bands from Wikipedia!

I love how ignorant you are it's almost blissful for me. I remake last.fm about every 3 months but aside from that is the large portion that I get tired of one genre and move onto another for a certain amount of time. Also you still haven't answered the question I asked you so I'm going to go ahead and assume you haven't listened to either of those and are just making a judgement call based on....nothing.
http://forums.gamewinners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=532354
Those are a few of the bands if you read the thread. Also when I was looking for that I found a thread where you yourself suggested I listened to Ulver which I have since you suggested that.
http://forums.gamewinners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=566743
When I ask for suggestions on here I listen to every single thing someone suggests. I'm not going to act like some big death metal head but I've heard my fair share of black metal and melodic death metal bands to nice the influences from both in those CDs by underoath.
Also you must've found an old last.fm by me where the plays were reset because I don't have any Blackfield in there right now.

The reason Dethklok has such lyrics is because they are a made up for a cartoon band. Meant to be funny.
Opeth, definitely.
Check out Isis.
Ensiferum usually takes its time before singing or don't sing at all.
