They're hilarious, but do you think they're real musicians? Do you like their "music"?

Apart from a couple of things when I wasn't properly concentrating (one was about robots taking over or something) the only song of theirs I've heard is Foux De Fa Fa, which I liked quite a lot - especially as it was in a French lesson.

Defining 'real musicians' is a bit of a minefield. They use music as a form of comedy, which is a little different to how it is mostly used, but it's difficult not to call them real musicians because of it.

(one was about robots taking over or something)
That's The Humans Are Dead, and is one of my favourites.

That's the one. I remember not finding it as funny as the rest of the people in the room, but it wasn't bad.

Titled "Robots" if anyone is doing a search for the song.

I think it takes a musician to make a melody that's pleasing and interesting. A real musician can make it interesting to a wide variety of people. By that token, I definitely believe they're 'real' musicians. The songs are even better when you see them in the context of the show. My favorite is probably "The Most Beautiful Girl (In the Room)"

Something about New Zealanders.... :^:

That's mine too. I also like "Jenny" and "Bowie".

They're both good singers and you have to be pretty creative to come up with and execute the things they do they way they do them.

I love the Hiphopapottamus vs the Rhymenocerous (live). It's hilarious. Robots comes second, then Think About It, Think, Think About It.
Yeah, I think that they are real musicians. They have plenty of singing and guitar talent (Jermaine has a magnificent vocal range).

Man, I love them! Like Kid_A said, a lot better to listen to with the show, but still great to listen to normally.

They are real musicians in my opnion. Just because their lyrics are funny doesn't mean they aren't. They have good vocals and decent enough music.

My favorite would have to be "The most beautiful girl (in the room)"

I love them and their show, reminds me a lot of Tenacious D. The first song I heard of theirs was "Business Time", which is absolute quality.

Why? Is there something obscene about Flight of the Conchords?

It's funny, because they actually started out as serious musicians, but everyone thought their songs were parodies so they got into the comedy folk music thing.

Depending on what type of school he goes to, the line "and poisoned their asses" though hilarious, may not sit well with the faculty.

Because I rap about reality...

Most Beautiful Girl, Leggy Blonde, and Bowie are my three favorites. But I do like all of their stuff, I've watched all of the episodes with my brother as well. Fun band.
