"Additional" KH Game

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories is coming to the PS2 December 2. Some of you know that the Final Mix of KH2 came with this game, but looks like Square Enix is bringing it to the US this December. Yes, its an actual release for North America. Unless this is targeted to only Japanese-speaking Americans, its going to be in English.

Fantastic news. I've not played CoM as I never owned a GBA so this is good news indeed. King Harkinian, I suspect a European release will follow in the spring. They usually do.

Updated from the GBA version, yes, but I don't think they'll differ much from the Re:CoM that was released with KH2:FM+.

I wonder why they haven't chosen to release FM+ as well. It had all the VA in English, didn't it? It would just be a case of translating the text on extra cutscenes.

I doubt they wanted this to be a special case, than Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix.. "We didn't release the first, why release the second?"

It's a smart move to release CoM: Remix anyway.. will revive the KH series for a while, instead of it's current seems-eternal death >.<

Yes, and it should give a distraction in case TGS turns out with no morsel of KH3.

I dont see myself getting this game, CoM was pretty much a retelling of KH1 from my understand and all the holes have been pretty much filled in by KH2 that was new material

Like.. wow! WTF's wrong with everybody? When they released KH2: FM, everybody was complaining that they didn't get to play it. Now they release CoM: Remix alone, and half the people who were complaining don't really think it's that cool. So technically people would prefer playing the remix of KH2, with some awesome new features, than playing A WHOLE NEW-TO-THE-PS2 KH: CoM REMIX!?... Doesn't make sense to me. OF COURSE it'll be fun! I'm not playing it for the story AT ALL, the experience of actually getting to use the gameplay system of CoM 3D wise pretty much owns. [Oh and you get to play with Riku in 3D.. never asked for more]. I would never imagine myself letting this game down.. even if I finished the original one on GBA [which I did -_-]

CoM wasn't really a retelling of KH1. Its the bridge between KH1 and KH2. Many people were confused with KH2 because they had not played CoM. However, I will admit that playing CoM is like playing through KH1 with a different battle system, but CoM's main story is different from that of KH1.

What makes me want to play a game is the gameplay. What keeps me hooked is the story.

That's the reason I want to play it. I think it'll increase my enjoyment of KH2 when I know exactly what's happened beforehand.

Wow, you havent played CoM? Trust me, if you loved KH1, you'll love CoM. But otherwise...

Yep! I felt as if I was playing KH1 on GBA, but then there were actual additions to the storyline [which's the actual plot of CoM anyway], so yeah.. it's fun. But the only reason I'm getting it for PS2 is the new experience of gameplay; 3D wise!

It should at least hold everybody over for a little bit until the handheld games come out if TGS does not come with any new KH news.

As some of you may know, I'm a huge fan of CoM card battle system. I am happy to see the remake being brought to the US. But one thing kinda confuses me on the whole thing. CoM was packaged with KH2: FM+. The whole point of replaying the game was to actually unlock content for the re-make of KH2. So then, why not just send us both titles? Am I the only one who thinks that way?

As mentioned earlier, they obviously didn't want to make this a special case.. they didn't release Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix, why release Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix? Yes it had more features, but I guess they're really stubborn!

You didn't really play the whole CoM remix just to unlock limit form in KH2: FM, the new experience of CoM in 3D is enough tbh. I know it would have been AWESOME if they released KH2: FM too, and I mean.. why not? They're already releasing CoM remix.. but meh, I won't complain. It's already awesome with CoM coming <3

I believe CoM also helped you unlock some of the Org XIII boss battles in KH2:FM+. There's like a special boss battle arena or something in KH2:FM+. When you beat CoM, the bosses from CoM were added to the boss battle arena in KH2:FM+.

And I just kinda gave up all hope in getting any of the benefits of Japan's games and whatnot...but I still love America for what its worth...
