I'm trying to find the name of an extremely hard to find game anyone think they are good enough to know the answer (I'vr been searching for a few days now with no luck).

it had single player & two player (simultaneous) modes

You would pick a charater (from 4-5 choices) and this character would act like a paddle bouncing a ball from the bottom of the screen to battle foes/levels, if the ball got pasted you (sorta like in pinball), you lost (or lost life) but otherwise the ball touching your character would knock it back towards the top of the screen where it would damage foes.

After beating the foe/level you went to a "world" sceen where one could walk to the next level (ususally looking like a castle or place).

It was released in America.

What is the Game's Name?!?

Good Luck with this hard puzzle!

Hrmm...

My initial findings tell me that there is a good chance it's Arkanoid Doh It Again. YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZLvym3sJTY&eurl=http://www.cheatcodesgalore.com/snes/games/Arkanoid_Doh_It_Again/) video of the game.

If that isn't it, could you rule out any obvious ones that you've already found while looking?

In it the "paddles" were ACTUAL characters (like a knight, a birdman, ect).

They could move in any direction within the bottom 5th of the screen.

The "ball" was fairly large like in pinball but the concept was alot like Arkanoid or breakout (but instead of just blocks you would have moving creatures or giant animated 1/2 screen enemies that would take damage when the ball would hit a specific section of their "body". It was a great 2 player game.

I had the game but I live in the Southern Mississippi area and it was destoyed during the flooding brought on by Hurricane Katrina.

I need the help of some game guru as I cannot even think of the right words to put in a search engine to get this game to show up. (and believe me I've tried)

I finally found it...

It is : " Firestriker "

If you've never tried it, look into it as a good game with a unique theme.
