ive just bought this game cheap (second hand shoppe lol) and when i get to installing disk 2 its saying that it has a virus on the file [E:\Bin\ar.exe] and i dont know why, is this a problem that many people have had or has the disk been tampered with somehow? or is it just my computer being its usual useless self :bah::bashhead:??

it comes up as Trojan Horse Generic11.EDN with AVG Free



any ideas gratefully received :)

I already answered you on msn but I'll post it here too before someone else does :P

From what I've find on google, it's a problem with AVG. It sees a virus that isn't really there. Switching anti-virus software just for that would be a pain, but you could try uninstalling it, installing the game, installing AVG again. Seems like the game will work afterward. If it doesn't, well invite me over to fix it :P

yup you were right and it workED.

now i get to the first campaign screen and i get the blue screen of death and it restarts. It comes up on the screen with "if you've seen this screen before then do this"...

and then restarts. so i dont get a chance to see what i should actually do.

there is a patch on disk 2, maybe i should install that? im about to reinstall it coz i uninstalled the game, see if that helps.

Install the latest patch on the CD and check on the official website in case there's a newer there too.

now im getting

"file or folder WINDOWS\Prefetch\AR.EXE-386109EC.pf is corrupt or unreadable, please run the chkdsk utility"

aaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!! *smashes comp into a thousand pieces in head*

any other suggestions?

ok i had to reboot my comp in the end coz it completely screwed it up.

I got a problem too with this game...
I just bought it from a magazine (I dont want to advertise the name :P)
and when I install it its "copying" the following file:
C:\Program Files\JoWooD\pak\sf1.pak
and then it says (for example) 2 minutes remaining...
after about half hour it says 20 minutes remaining...
What should I do to install it...?
I havent give it to anyone since I bought it.
