The Adventures Of Bayou Billy- DEFINATELY, by a huge margin. Today, that game is rotting on top of my NES, and I'm proud of it.

Oh geez, there are really a lot.
The one's I can remember:
Fester's Quest
Pitfall
Probably any of the Mario's
Back to the Future
You know, I guess I never really beat more than a few nes games. Mind you I haven't really played in depth in a lot of years.
Maybe it was age or lack of a save function?

GunSmoke
Bump and Jump
Spy Hunter (Does it ever end?)
Rolling Thunder
Back to the Future (favorite movie, worst game)

Back to the future! How could I forget that? Its a living mightmare. I remember that I once completed the first level. So I said,"Alright! FREAKING FINALLY!! I wonder whats next?" At that moment, I saw a level where you threw cakes or something at some bad guys, and I lost.

I think it's sundaes that he is throwing. That part was always a bitch because you have to perfectly line up to hit the guys.
My brother got to the last level where you drive the car, but then he lost.

You throw milk shakes at the guys. Then you have to get to do more running and skating. Then at the end, block all the hearts with the guitar. I've never gotten that far, I never knew you got to drive the car. I'm gonna try it when I get back to my collection in a few months.
I thought of more games.
Strider
Wrath of the Black Manta (just learned how to beat the last guy)
Ghosts and Goblins

Ghosts and Goblins
That game was unbelievabley hard. Not only that, but to ACTUALLY beat the game and get the real ending, you had to beat it TWICE!!!!! :faint:

Yeah, the combination of powers you were supposed to use, in order, was kind of dumb. I dont think a 9 year old kid would really discover how to beat El Toro by his own.

Or a 19 year old (me) back when I played it. Ten years later I'll give it another shot. Yes I'm old. Strider and Karnov and Rygar are more great games I never could get too far in.

You don't even want me to list the games for my Nes that I haven't beaten (some I own and haven't even played, like 8eyes). However here's a nice few of mine that I havetn't beaten.
Super Mario Bros. 1 (mainly because of that damned maze on the seventh castle)
Little Ninja Brothers (awesome game but I can't find someone who will play through it with me, even if we use the password system)
Strider (fun game, but kinda confusing, collecting data and all that)
Maniac Mansion (got stuck in the dungeon quite a few times. And that also was just a confusing game. Did all of those items actually have a purpose???)
CastleVania II Simon's Quest
Solstice (fun puzzles but long and no password system)
TMNT 1and2 (almost beat the second one, but when me and a friend got so close and lost we just gave up)
The Adventures of Bayou Billy (played it only once so I can't say I gave it a good chance. After this I'm gonna play a couple of these and recap)

That's what I was gonna say. I also bought Back to the Future and haven't played it... :( Now that's just terrible. That'll be another that I play and get back to ya on.

Well if you need help, theres tons of info and tips here on GameWinners. All those games you mentioned are pretty tough but SMB 1 you can beat the castle if you go down the pipe after every lava pit after the firt one.

Yeah, gforce is right. You can also go to youtube, watch the video of a guy that makes a speed run SMB 1, and memorize the pipes he goes into at the last castle(that's what I did, now I can beat the game in like 10 min).

The only game that comes to my mind is TMNT1 I can get to the 3rd stage easily with out cheating but a couple of my turtles are too weak and I give up. But I saw my brother beat it with out cheating.

Hmhm....
Back to the Future (OHGOD)
Duck Hunt (does that dog ever stop laughing at me..? :( )
I never really had many games for NES, though it was (and still is) my favorite system. I need to expand my library, though...a silly child traded ALL of my old NES games (and my gray zapper gun w/ manual) to GameStop so he could buy a new (crappy) N64 game years ago. I never got many back...but at least he was unable to find my two zelda games back then.

I was the worst at Metal Gear and Snakes Revenge. I barely get anywhere in Dragon's Lair. My Home Alone 2 and Castle of Dragon games kept freezing far into the game too.

Dragon's Lair is f*cking annoying. That's going on my list, too.

I think Xevious, Adventure Island, TMNT, Metal Fighter, and Contra when you don't cheat are the toughest.

Adventures of Bayou Billy and Back To The Future. In all fairness though, I didn't try to beat them anywhere near as much as some reputably hard games I've conquered such as Contra, TMNT, Castlevania, the Ninja Gaiden games, and Battletoads.
I've never tried Silver Surfer, but I've heard that it's one of the toughest as well.

I got a Game Action Replay and have been able to beat all the games I mentioned on this forum since April 2008. Now I'm overseas and using emulators which makes it so easy its rediculous. I started working on some Famicom and Famicom Disk games too along with some crazy Taiwanese games too. I got a file of 3500 ROMs at once so I'll be set for the next several years.

Double Dragon III is hard to beat if you don't know the "v" pattern on the end boss. I never got all the way through on Addams Family just cause it's too long and boring. I agree with Ninja Gaidens, all of them are tricky, takes alot of practice to complete.

I could never, ever beat Battle Toads. No matter how hard I tried...that game is ridiculous.

NES games were hard to beat just because they didn't have save points, the few that had passwords helped... I remember Stryder, loved that game, would love to see it rereleased!

Battle toads that stupid driving level
TMNT
The driving level isn't what got me, I could beat that pretty easily and it was one of my favorites. It was the next couple that always caused me the trouble. Normally when you play with someone the game should be easier...doing that here made it one of the hardest things on the planet.
