It doesn't look like it garnered much interest. Would the regulars still like for it to continue?
If so, I'm thinking that we will need to enhance this a little bit so that it is better rounded. I'm thinking there should be different categories as we all have our favorites of different genres.
I'm all ears so go ahead and let me know. If there is little interest in this thread then the whole thing will probably be scrapped.

I don't really have any problems with anything, but there's a lot of clutter in the main threads menu. I hope I'm not being too whiny.

That's exactly the reason I'm trying to figure this out now, so I can then remove this "clutter" if it really isn't providing any purpose.

I was liking the tournament a lot, I voted for most of the polls, but unfortunately it stopped recently. I wouldn't want to see it scrapped but I think a little "enhancement" would do the tournament well.

Okay, well I don't think two interested people warrants a whole tournament at the moment. For now, I'm going to go ahead and unstick the threads. If either of you would still really like to do it, I will set something up.
Please discuss.

I didn't really like the matchups... they seemed...
out of place...? (is that really the ending I wanted for that sentence?)

I agree. It just didn't seem right to match up (can't remember them now, so just an example) Street Fighter and Earthbound. Of course most would likely pick Earthbound because it's has much more depth than a fighting game.
However, if just rpg's were put head to head, there could be a lot more discussion about their high points and low points and which one is ultimately the best. This would, however, require a lot of participants as a majority of people (including myself) haven't played all the rpg's available, thus wouldn't have sufficient basis on which to judge them.
I think I remember an announcement for this tournament being made, but it still doesn't look like that drew much attention.
Any ideas you guys would have for attracting people?

In relation to this tournament, or just attracting people to this forum in general?
To the tournament, I think polls would be sufficient. Big-named games (Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Clay Fighter, etc.) could all be put into a poll together and be voted on which one's the best.
In general, I think something like "The Official Virtual Console Checklist" or something would be good for just SNES games, in case people don't know...
...?
(To be frank, I don't really know where I'm going with this.)

Yeah to bring back the tournament I agree we would need to attract more attention. I have no idea what could draw more people to it, maybe organize the tournament into, things like "best fighting game", "best platform", and of course "best rpg". I think you guys might have already said something along the same lines, but it might be a good idea.
As for attraction, lets make the snes forum all flashy with bright, radical colours and we'll get people for sure.
No I really can't think of anything, not the creative type guy, you know? I hope someone here will be good at it though.

I've got it. The anime/manga forum has its own rating committee, why don't we? It could be done just as easily. Ratings/reviews could be done as follows:
Name:
Game Type:
ESRB:
Score:
And from there, you could rate Story, Gameplay, Sound, Graphics, and who cares what else.
Good idea, or no? :^:

I also think there needs to be a best snes game tournament. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV - Turtles In Time, the best game ever.
