Interesting story (http://www.destructoid.com/limbo-of-the-lost-pulled-for-epic-oblivion-theft-90284.phtml)

Granted, it's a no-name game that I know I have no interest in, I suppose that's the only way this would go relatively under-the-radar. It's pretty sad, and yet mildly hilarious at the same time. Interesting to see how Bethesda reacts.

Here (http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/11/yoink-adventure-game-reuses-oblivions-graphics/) is a screenshot of side by side comparisons.

Seems pretty funny to me. Some guy who is in charge of at least 10 people thought this would be a good idea.

Here is what Wiki says:
On June 11, 2008 GamePlasma, a gaming news site, posted an article that shows certain places in Limbo of the Lost were identical to the game The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. After the revelation, others looking into the game discovered environments and features that appeared to be taken from the games The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Unreal Tournament 2004, Unreal Tournament 2003, Diablo II, Thief: The Dark Project, Thief: Deadly Shadows, a CryENGINE2 Tech Demo, Silent Hill 4: The Room, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Painkiller, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth, Hexen and World of Warcraft. Other scenes appear to be taken from live action films: one from the 1997 film Spawn, another from Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl and several more from Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End and level design from Enclave. The game also contains footage from Sea Dogs.

Publisher Tri Synergy announced they had stopped distribution of Limbo of the Lost while investigating these allegations of plagiarism. Tri Synergy says they had no knowledge that Majestic Studios used other games' work without permission and has contacted Majestic Studios and is waiting for the developer to respond.
Here is a link to the wiki page. They've got all sorts of links to forums, interent blog reports, and a Youtube video taking from the Bonus DVD of the game.

Wow, I wouldn't've (great word, huh? :P) thought that they'd rip off THAT many games, and to think they didn't even remove small, unique background features like the painting in the side-by-side comparison! If they ever get allowed to release it, I think I'll get it when it comes down, just to see what it's all about! :chuckle:

I actually think the game sounds funny as an idea, an infusion of multiple game/movie scenes and levels. I'd like to see this idea actually used one day. If it were legal and all. And the idea was used right.
