I wasn't sure where to put this, but since I'm asking for technology advice, I'll go right ahead.

I want to record videos of my progress on video games (Rock Band especially), but I was just wondering what was the best way to do this. Eventually I hope to upload them on youtube, but I thought I'd post here for some advice on getting the best picture and sound quality, and the ease of transferring it to my USB so I can upload it onto youtube.

I think the best, but not necessarily the easiest way is with a capture card. That lets you connect your TV to your PC so you can record straight onto it. Prices of cards can range from £10 to £85.

Alternatively, you can use a camcorder or webcam. The quality will be lower, but the process is simpler.

or you can just go and buy Dazzle.

And what is Dazzle, exactly?

Edit: Matt, can you recommend a decent capture card, because I'm a little confused by the range available.

To be honest I don't know much about them. Note down your computer specifications and browse the web for compatible cards and read a few reviews.

Actually if you have an LCD, DLP, rear projection, or Plasma tv. Recording with a webcam or video camera isn't bad on the picture side. With sound you can use what you have or just over ride it witht he song.

It just so happens I'm getting a 32" HD Plasma telly delivered tomorrow, so now I'm looking for a camcorder with decent sound quality.
