Medieval 2 console

Hi there..
I can't open the console in Medieval 2 - Total War :(
I've tried almost every button available even esc (Desperate ;)) but isn't there a command you have to write in the shortcut target to enable the console ?
Any help would be nice

Press the tilde (~) key and enter these codes to use them. All codes are case sensitive. Make sure to capitalize family member names, settlement names, and anything else that needs capitalizing or else it will not work.
