I WANT TO RUN A MONO TEAM BUT I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT TO RUN.
FOR THOSE ABOUT TO HELP I WANT U TO KNOW THAT I LIVE IN THE COUNTRY AND I CANT TRADE WITH ANYONE PLUS I DONT HAVE WI-FI ANYWHERE NEAR ME SO I CANT TRADE POKEMON TO EVOLVE THEM OR GET NEW ONES I CAN ONLY GET SINNOH AND HOENN POKEMON BECAUSE I ONLY HAVE RUBY, SAPPHIRE AND EMERALD NOT FR/LG. JUST WANTED TO PUT THAT IN THERE BECAUSE WHEN I ASKED ABOUT TEAMS IN THE PAST PEOPLE ALWAYS TELL ME TO USE POKEMON I DONT HAVE.

THX FOR THE HELP,
MR. PIGGY:bump: :piggy: :kirby:

IN THE FUTURE, TYPING STUFF LIKE THIS IS CONSIDERED RIDICULOUSLY ANNOYING AND STUFF SO YOU SHOULDN'T DO IT.

Mono teams are really hard since you have to compensate for a typing's weaknesses all the time. If you really want to build a mono team, it's really hard to go wrong with mono-Water.

Judging by your restrictions, I would say that mono-Normal would be good. You can do a bunch of stuff:

Snorlax
Zangoose
Blissey
Kecleon
Linoone
Kangaskhan
Purugly
Lickylicky
Porygon/2/z

That should be enough to help you construct a team. Other than that, all water is good like Pontus said.

you could also add scarmory and/or magneton to your mono-steel team

P.S. mr. piggy, maybe you should un-bold your test type.
it's a bit hard to read.

Quick tip: it's hard to not recommend what you don't have if you don't tell us what you do have. Also, what type of mono-team were you interested in running?

A mono team of fire is tough to do while having good pokemon so don't go fire i know i can do water normal steel and flying very well( due to all flyings having 2 types)

scizor is unobtainable because he said he couldn't trade.

Well, there's plenty of Steel types still, if he still has a giant desire for a mono-team. Registeel, Empoleon, Steelix, Bronzong, Metagross, Forretress, Skarmory, Lucario, and the like are all "good" options.

to tell the truth when i went to Florida on vacation i was staying at a hotel and the kid staying in the room next to me traded me a scizor. also i changed my mind and i want to create a team of steel and a team of water. the team was going to be for battle tower single battles. at first they were going to be for field battling but then i wanted to do battle tower battles.

i've got a basis for both teams.

water

Empoleon @ no item yet
Adament nature

Hydro Cannon
Metal Claw
Ice Beam
Flash Cannon

steel

Scizor @ no item yet
Hasty nature

Hyper Beam
X-Scizer(?)
Metal Claw
U-Turn

Bulbasaurus Rex

Don't use Hydro Cannon as your only Water move, and don't use Hyper Beam, 2 damaging Steel moves on Empoleon, or 2 damaging Bug moves on Scizor. The movesets need additional help, but I covered the basics, and others will surely post the other fixes.

Empoleon @ choiceband
Adament nature

waterfall
Earthquake
Avalanche
Drillpeck
although this set is a gimick, it could work.

I MADE MOVESET CHANGES

EMPOLEON @ STILL NO ITEM
SAME NATURE

HYDRO CANNON
BRINE
FLASH CANNON
METAL CLAW

SCIZOR @ STILL NO ITEM
SAME NATURE

X-SCIZER(?)
METAL CLAW

I NEED 2 MORE MOVES FOR SCIZOR

Empoleon is best as a special attacker or wall. Unfortunately, Adamant nature doesn't work with that. I don't know that much about Empoleon tbh.

Scizor is a physical attacker, and you should give it a Choice Band with X-Scissor, Brick Break, U-Turn and Quick Attack.

Scizor should be used as a baton passer. Give it batonpass swords dance/agility, substitute, x-sczior

Yes, it is good at Baton Passing, but it gets a monstrous attack stat with a CB, as well as STAB X-Scissor.
