Has anyone here ever found themselves going back and listening to music that their parents listened to when you were younger. For me that involve Van Halen, with only one Van Hagar song as part of the list, Queen, etc. Just wondering.

Forgot 38 Special.

I listen to the music that was around when my parents were younger but they didnt listen to that kind of stuff. The only thing we both listen to is Queen.

No, I've actually introduced my parents to bands that were around during their time.

Yes. The Eagles, Queen, The Carpenters, ELO, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac to name but a few. Actually listened to the first Queen record not too long ago.

My dad's cd collection is essentially the entire back catalogue from Black Sabbath, Rush, Lez Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, CCR, Yes, Mott the Hoople, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep etc... so yeah, it sees a lot of playing time...

I know my mom listened to a lot of classic rock and was into that whole scene but she doesn't admit it much. The only bands we both openly love are The Eagles and Alabama along with maybe a few others.

Sorta, kinda. I like some stuff like Genesis/Phil Collins, Elton John, Billy Joel and the like, but I don't necessarily go seeking it out and listen to it as such. I'll definitely turn it up if I hear it, but I rarely decide to crank out any of it just on a whim.

Yeees... but the music my mum introduced me to is something... weird, one could say. I sincerely wish name Klaus Wunderlich doesn't ring anyone's bell here.

To an extent... my mom listens to only country and I've never touched the stuff but I do find myself listening to the Beach Boys, the Beegees, and maybe Van Morrison every so often that my dad listened to when I grew up.

Every time I think of a memory when I was younger, there always seems to be a Beach Boys song playing in the background.

It's more backwards with me. I listen to older/classic music because I like it, and if my parents happen to hear a familiar tune from their youth they'll mention it.

Same here, but for me, it's James Taylor. :^:

Uh, yeah, I find myself listening to Boston and Billy Idol from time to time because that's what my Mom used to clean the house to when I was younger. Ive gone to discover the good stuff from those eras all by myself mostly, however.

Man, you cats are young.

My dad listened to Chicago. and my mom listened to whatever was popular when she turned the radio on.

But Gn'R, Metallica, Queen, Van Morrison, I listened to those when they weren't so old. I even carved "And Justice For All" in to my desk in 6th grade Social Studdies.

Uh, Rush. That's all. My parents are pretty one-dimensional when it comes to music they grew up with. My dad only really listens to Judas Priest, who I've never really been into (he has one Rush album, which is what made me like them). My mom...Every. Cher. Album. In. Existence. ...It gets pretty bad when she gets in the mood.

My dad got me into Pink Floyd by the time I was ten. He has played Darkside of the Moon successivly at least three times a week out of every month for the last however many years.
