Are there any pokmon that learn the move Grassknot naturally?

I ask this because I already used the TM on my Empoleon, and I wanted to breed it to Chimchar. I tried the Smergle trick, but it's too strong and causes them to faint. What should I do for this situation?

Also if necessary, could HP(Grass) work for Infernape instead?

Grass Knot hits most of the OU game for 80, 100, and 120 BP. A few things like Vaporeon are 60BP and there's the rare Lanturn at 40, but it's much better than HP Grass 99% of the time

I suppose your Empoleon is male? Just breed your Chimchar 'til you get a female one, and then breed it with Empoleon.

It also seems that no Pokémon learns Grass Knot naturally. So, unless your Empoleon is female, you are safe, so to speak.

Yes, it is a male Empoleon. I'll do just that.

Ok, how about this for a future moveset.

Infernape@Life Orb
Grass Knot
Hidden Power(Ice)
Flamethrower
Close Combat

I was thinking of building a team to set it up in battle, then at the right moment; switch it in (via BP) to have it sweep through my opponent's team.

Yeah, that's the basic mixape. Running Nasty Plot over HP Ice makes it easier to sweep with as well as breed for, though if you have a Togekiss or something that's fine too, since you can come in on any Ice Beams thrown at her.

That won't work. The Pokémon you teach the TM to must be male, if you want to do some move-breeding.

Do the Empoleon and Infernape families even breed? What's their common Egg Group if they do?

And no, no Pokémon learns Grass Knot naturally.

They should, their shared egg group is Ground.

Quoted too much, it seems... "Yeah, they should learn Grass Knot naturally because they're in Ground egg group." That's not what I meant. :)

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!!! I got a Smeargle to learn GK and I'm breeding Chimchar right now. Of course, now I just have to keep breeding in order to get one with HP(Ice).
